What a wonderful stay at the Ullswater hotel . Evening meals and breakfasts were lovely. Restaurant staff were very attentive, very pleasant ... There is a small lift to rooms, wifi in bar area.
Short walk to the sea. Parking is hit and miss got to be lucky to find a space which is just outside the hotel.. Overall a lovely hotel lovely staff would visit again.

Many thanks for your kind positive response. It is always pleasing when someone has enjoyed themselves without looking for trivial things to spoil their break.

Thank you to The Ullswater Hotel for accommodating 22 ladies’ at short notice for a recent overnight stay. The hotel is centrally located close to all of Bournemouth’s amenities. Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast.

Many thanks for your review which was realistic in comparison to your colleague, as we had provided accommodation to your group of ladies at very short notice

The hotel is pretty clean and presentable. It is situated a short walk from the town centre and the sea front. Staff are friendly and helpful although there are several members of staff who have great difficulty with understanding English. Rooms are generally presentable and of average size.
Was shocked to find that there was no mattress protector and in its place was a cellular blanket similar to the type used in hospitals. This made the bed slightly uncomfortable as the holes could be felt beneath the sheets.
The breakfast was acceptable but evening dinner was very disappointing and of very poor quality. How orange juice an apple juice can be classed as a starter is beyond me. Main course was a choice between, a fish dish, turkey dinner and bolognese. I can't comment on the fish personally but other members of my party didn't rate it. The turkey dinner comprised of processed turkey, sausage wrapped in bacon, roast potatoes which were drenched in oil, boiled potatoes which were resting in the same oil, a fried stuffing ball, some very nice cauliflower cheese, sprouts and orange bisto! Yuck! There was a choice of hot and cold deserts which most of the party seemed to enjoy. Hotel staff enter rooms and start cleaning befor you check out which is uneccesary as new guests don't arrive until after 3!
Such a shame as this hotel has the potential to be a very good one.

Room Tip: Basement rooms have a very good view of feet passing by.

Many thanks for feedback-however mis-informed it is!
We categorically do not used processed Turkey, the bird was cooked earlier prior to your arrival.
Also, we do not use Bisto-which you thought you recognised. The chefs use the oil from cooking to make fresh natural juis.
Unfortunately ,with this being your first ever review we would ask that you check facts with any hotel prior to writing such comments

Stayed for two nights last weekend. Very warm welcolme and very good value for money. Well situated for the town centre, just about 15 minutes walk straight into town or a little longer if you go down on to the sea front and walk along the prom. We arrived just after lunch time and were able to park outside the hotel with no trouble which is a bonus in Bournemouth. A very nice clean and comfortable room although the shower was a little small and if you were on the large side you may have difficulty in getting in and out, but I am sure if you returned to reception they would do there best to sort another room for you. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed a lovely hot cooked full breakfast after helping ourselves to a good choice of cereals and fruit juice etc. Lovely 'hot' pot of tea also. A very good base for bed and breakfast and highly recommended.

Found this hotel very pleasing, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and very clean. Public rooms and large bedroom with an en suite. Short walk from the hotel to the cliff top. The only downside for the hotel is the lift is very small. The hotel has free wifi around the hotel. The menu was varied.

A great welcome, crystal clean, warm and cosy. Parking not easy but more than made up for with ideal location. My dog was welcome too! A pity that on murder mystery weekend not possible to have dinner without the murder! Fascinating pictures in the lounge of early brochure.

stayed 2 nights, Friday and Saturday, situated in west cliff just a short walk away from the centre of town, clean, friendly helpful staff, nice breakfast, has rooms over 3 floors but has a small lift which is a benefit for those with heavy cases or children or health issues, limited car parking spaces and limited on street parking, you can double park across hotel spaces but must leave keys at reception which is understandable, having said that we didn't have a problem.
