My wife and I have stayed at the Hermitage Hotel on many occasions but this year was very different for us.
August was our Golden Wedding Anniversary and all our family stayed with us for six lovely days, we all had superior sea view rooms and a great time.
We had all our meals in the hotel restaurant, the food from a choice of menus, and the service was excellent.
The management and staff made our anniversary a memorable one for all of us and we would like to take this opportunty to thank everyone who made this possible.

After a disastrous start at self appointed four star hotel in Bournemouth which we had previously booked and had to leave because it was so bad the Hermitage made us so welcome and turned our holiday around, we can't thank them enough. The accommodation was excellent and the food was delightful, will never think of booking into another hotel in Bournemouth again, it has to be the Hermitage.

Room tip: It was lovely to wake up in the morning to the sun rising and sea views.

I regularly go for a break to bournemouth and have stayed at the hermitage a good few times.....So unable to get into the royal exeter(fully booked), I opted for 3 nights in the hermitage as its alongside the beach and close to central bournemouth.....I found this time that standards have slipped, the room I got given (105) was in the noisiest part of hotel stuck between the cleaners office and a roof run where staff were walking past my windows so had to put blinds on; on top of that the person in room206 above me kept on thudding/banging his floor, my ceiling on the first night making me lose sleep......I complained to reception on the morning.....Then you have the cleaning staff who dont speak english, id go out at 9-30am return at 12-30 to find they hadnt touched the room or changed the towels, and had to wait a further 40 minutes before my room was ready.....they were so slow and laid back....then theres what passes as breakfast and service here is slipshod as well, the food is pre cooked meaning the fried eggs are like leather, the sausages tasted off and the scrambled egg was a grey colour ....I didnt have breakfast on my last morning as id gone off it....when you get your breakfast you sit at the table an age before you have to call there slow staff to get the tea and toast....no one leads or takes responsibility among the service staff and its terrible....its not a 4 star hotel in my book on previous stays its been ten times better....lets hope they take note and improve.

I have noted your comments, disappointing to read. I am sorry that you had such a negative experience. We all try really hard to maintain our high standards and quality of service its not just a job to most of us here, we really do care about our guest experience.
I am always available to listen and address any concerns you may have had and would have welcomed the opportunity prior to your review.

Ideally situated next to the beach
We had compact rooms with were a lot bigger than many hotels normal rooms , even room for a settee.
The staff are friendly and helpful
Lovely food and public areas are open and not crowded seating areas
Will definitely be back ❤️

This hotel is worth the money spent! We had 4 rooms and every one of them were gorgeous especially the sea view room..
Breakfast and evening meals were very posh, lovely food.
Just a very short walk over to the gorgeous beach, west cliff is always the best bit to go I've found.
Excellent waiting staff in the restaurant in the evenings.
Will be staying here again next year!x

Room tip: Ask for sea view!
