“Comfortable & good value”
Reviewed February 25, 2010

My wife & I have been visiting Bournemouth for over thirty years and we usually stay at the over priced star rated cliff top hotels. For this weekend break we chose Marlins from guest reviews on Trip Advisor.

The booking provcess could not have been easier, particularly in that I had to amend our requirements by phone, after initially providing incorrect details over the internet. Our double room was spacious, comfortable and very quiet, the full breakfast was far better than that served up by many of the aforementioned star rated hotels.

With free parking on site, the hotel is only a short stroll from the town centre and the clifftop. Next door is a fine Indian restaurant and 200 yards in the other direction is a quality Chinese - both more than adequate for our dining requirements on this two night stay!

Comfortable, quiet, excellent location and good value. I feel sure we will return

Neil and Michael run an immaculately clean hotel with super cooked breakfast. They are warm and friendly hosts. It is no surprise that guests return time after time. It makes plesant change from impersonal budget chain hotels. You are guaranteed a good nights sleep as the hotel is quiet and the brekkie will set you up for the day.
I highly recommend you stay at Marlins!

We stayed at Marlins for a long weeend in February and had a fabulous time despite the cold! We stayed in 2 of the rooms which have been re-decorated which are lovely and bright and comfortable. The shower in room 10 is great and we wanted to take it home with us!!
The mornings started well with the super cooked breakfast which set us up for a day in great outdoors!
The hotel is in a great location fro the beach and local attractions and we are looking forward to another stay soon!

This small hotel certainly makes the most of what it has. The 'Hotel Inspector' would struggle to find fault. Yes the rooms are small but the presentation of every aspect of the hotel could not be improved upon. A warm welcome, spotless rooms, compact but attractive breakfast room, free parking, and walking distance to the shops and beach. Well done! I would stay here again and recommend it without hesitation.

Booked this b&b purely on the excellent reports it has received in the past on T/A.
We were certainly not disappointed, the staff are extremely friendly and more than ready to help with advice on all Bournemouth as to offer. The whole place has a good warm feeling, being tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We especially liked the two excessively comfortable armchairs in our room which enabled us to really relax whilst watching the plasma screen t.v.
I have recently spent nearly 18 months travelling the country with work, spending 4 or 5 nights a week staying at all the big hotels, but for general comfort and feelgood factor this has to be the best,at a fraction of the price i used to pay.
The location is perfect, with a good pub and a few good restaurants within yards of the door. The sea is just a few yards away and oh, by the way they also do a very nice tasty breakfast.
Look no further folks, just book it ,you wont be disappointed.

We stayed at Marlins for 3 days over new year and were pleasantly greeted at the door by Neil one of the owners. We were made to feel at home straight away and given an on map guided tour of places of interest to us. We would have like a slightly larger room with a 4 poster bed but that was our fault as it was a last minute decision to book anywhere so we were lucky to get in. Our room was warm and the large bed very comfortable. The en-suite was very nice and the room had just recently been refurbished so all was very clean. Can't argue with the full English breakfast, you won't go hungry and Neil always seemed to be around when we wanted anything. There was the freedom to come and go without question (do make sure you latch the front door though) as we would want if it were our hose. Well done guys 5 stars.
