We have just returned from a five day break at Marlins. The hotel is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, offers a superb breakfast and has two wonderful hosts - Neil and Michael. We have been visiting Bournemouth for over 25 years and feel we have found a real gem! It felt like an oasis - a quiet relaxed place to unwind from the stresses of life. Thank you for a superb holiday - we will definitely return.

This was a last minute stay having booked a room online through the hotels own website. The website was good and provided enough information to make a decision and secure payment through the site. A number of rooms were available but having already been away this month we took the double room with the separate bathroom which was the cheapest room available and at a good price. I received an email from the hotel after the booking to confirm that I knew the room wasn't an ensuite room which was thoughtful.
On arrival there was room to park in the hotels own car park. The welcome was warm and friendly and we were shown to the room which is on the top floor but not too many stairs to climb. This hotel is spotless and the room we were given was excellent. The separate bathroom was immediately opposite the room and for our sole use. This was a large bathroom with a decent bath and shower attachment, again spotless. Back to the room and it was bright with nice white bedding, a wall mounted flat screen TV and tasteful furnishings. The bed was comfortable and additional pillows in the built in wardrobe were good and saved time asking for them.
The breakfast was great in a bright airy room on the ground floor. This was the usual fare but was cooked to perfection with decent tasty sausages! More tea/coffee and toast were offered but certainly not needed as cereals, yoghurts etc were also available.
This is a definitely must return hotel. It is in an excellent location 5 minutes to the beach and not much more to the town centre. There are some excellent restaurants nearby. The only disappointment was only staying for one night.

Room Tip: All were good!

From the moment we arrived 3 years ago, we knew we found a place which we would visit again and again. After our third successive year, Marlins has never failed to deliver the perfect retreat.

Reason: A personal service that feels like you are at your family's house. They will remember your name, make you feel welcome and cook a banging breakfast!!

I came with my fiancée from Dubai because I loved the place so much and of course, me and my fiancée will be back next year.

After all, that's where we feel in love :)

Samim and Joeleen x

Room Tip: We use the same room all the time, so cant help you on that - room number 2. 4 poster bed!!

After reading other reviews we booked one of their 2 night special deals in a standard Twin En-suite Room (inc. Breakfast) for £114. Yes the room was not huge but Neil mentioned this when we spoke to him and it was fine for 2 nights although if we were staying longer we would have opted for their Deluxe Double rooms which have larger King Size beds. The standard room only has a very small wardrobe. The thing that really pleased my wife was that the bathroom was very clean, not a hint of dirt anywhere.
Good Points - Clean rooms, modern wall mounted TV, great location 5 mins from pier, excellent breakfasts with Full English available and freshly cooked, very light breakfast room not a piece of dark wood in sight, tea & coffee making facilities in room, free car parking.
Things which could be improved - could do with a towel rail for larger towels, wardrobe was a little small, mattress slightly on the hard side, water pressure on 3rd floor was sometimes a little hit and miss

Overall Neil & Michael and their staff were great hosts. We would give Marlins 8 out of 10 and would definitely be happy to stay there again.

First thing to say is that the owners are really nice people and will advice you for everything you ask. The rooms are clean and comfortable, parking just next to the hotel, there's a small library I picked a book from, though there's internet connection as well. There is a short walk to the beach as well as there is a short walk to the town centre where the main venues and shopping centres are. Huge English breakfast in the morning served. I'll definitely go back again next time I go to Bournemouth.

Really just want to repeat what I said last year
Smashing place, quiet, clean, great breakfast and service what more could you ask for.
Within walking distance of some great resturants, bars and only a short walk to the beach, the gardens or the town
Been coming here for a number of years and wouldn't go anywhere else when in Bournemouth.
Introduced Marlins to some friends this year and I am sure they will be back.
Thanks Neil & Michael for looking after us.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Bournemouth last minute, so I took to TripAdvisor in search of a B&B. I phoned at about 9am to and was lucky that they had a vacancy for the same day. The owners were lovely! They recommended things to do/see, places to eat and even offered to make a reservation for us. We told them we were a little cold in our room, even though it was the middle of June, and by the time we were back from dinner there was a space heater and extra blanket in our room. The location is perfect - about a 5-10 minute walk to get to anywhere (pier, town center etc). All in all a great place to stay - highly recommended!
