We stayed here during the Bournemouth Airshow back in August and we had a great time. When checking tripadvisor for are next trip I thought Id would check the Suncliff, open reading the reviews and management responses I realised that there was a mixed bag of comments and some I feel may have been unreasonable so I decided to put our thoughts of this place on here.

First of all the first thing we noticed was the location, we had been to bournemouth many times and it is sat right on the cliff top over looking the beaches and piers, stunning, just a 5 minuet walk from the action. The place was clean and there was a lot going on (because of the airshow) the councel had shut the road at the front so parking wasnt ideal but we soon made plans to park elsewhere and had no real issues. Our room was nice and big had all we needed we used the indoor pool alot as i was raining most days we were there and it was nice and warm had a jaccuzzi, sauna ect all very nice.
Breakfast was fantastic lots to choose from service was a little slow but the dinning room was full so I guess its to be expected, but by far the best thing about this hotel is the staff. So passionate and it realy does rub off on its guests. Every one of them seemed very proud of their respective department.

We will come back next year im shure, a realy old english sea side jem with pleant of qwerky charactuer. and NOT a modern box.

Wow some excelent photos of our resort thank you.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your time at the Suncliff and that you did not let the rain dampen your spirits.

Thank you for taking the time to 'set the record straight' about our great staff, hotel and its facilities.

We are hoping for a lot more sun at next years airshow, and who knows maybe even some flying aircraft ;)

See you there.

My friends were staying at this hotel and had invited me along for a meal in the hotel restaurant one evening before we all went to a concert at the BIC. To be honest I wasn't expecting much and was a bit concerned that we would be late for the concert. I was so wrong. My friends had explained the situation to the restaurant staff earlier and they went out of their way to serve us early before it got busy. And the standard of food was a real surprise. I had not expected it to be a nouveau cuisine restaurant. In the rush to make arrangements nobody had told me that! It was well presented, plentiful and delicious. So here’s a big thank you to the restaurant staff.

Dear reviewer,

Here at the Suncliff we are extremely proud of our restaurant with its great staff led by a very passionate restaurant manager and fantastic food created by our hugely talented and skilled head chef.

Our great value all day Sunday carvery is now more popular than ever, we have many loyal local customers who enjoy our food every week, needless to say booking is highly recommended.

We are now taking bookings for our Christmas Carvery Party Nights starting very soon with free entertainment and great room rates it is not to be missed.

We hope that this has given you plenty of excuse to return to us and enjoy our restaurant again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write those kind words and helping future guests when booking with us, I look forward to welcoming you back to the Suncliff very soon.

Our stay at the Suncliff Hotel really was fantastic, on arrival the staff were so friendly and welcoming and throughout our stay they were helpful and efficient, for example my husband forgot his toothbrush so we called to ask reception and one arrived to our bedroom door in a matter of minutes.

The room itself was nice, clean, a reasonable size and we had a beautiful view of the sea from our window, however it could do with refurbing.

We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel both of which were exceptional, the waiters were friendly and we were served quickly without feeling rushed.

We didn't use the swimming pool as we didn't bring our trunks but we had a look and it looked lovely, very clean and there was a sauna and jacuzzi aswell.

I would highly reccommend this hotel for your holidays it certainly made ours.

This hotel has lots of character and I cannot fault the staff both at reception and in the restaurant. They were very politeand friendly. The evening meal was good with plenty of choice, the service was quick and attentive. The bedroom was clean and the sheets were crisp and white. It is such a shame that some people are quick to find fault and seem to enjoy being picky, after all this hotel is not in the prime of life. They might prefer a modern faceless motel.

Me and my partner went for a realxing break away.. Hotel location was excellent for what we wanted but the hotel wasnt up to standard the room we stayed in had nails in the carpet, wall paper hanging off the wall, the bath was damaged and lots of rust on heated towel rail, also our t.v in the room didnt have a good picture so was very difficult to watch.
We were woken up both mornings at around 5.15am due to our room being above kitchen vents. (very noisy) we had our windows open the whole week end as the hotel was very warm. We complaind but couldnt move rooms due to hotel being fully booked so all we got was an apology from the manager.. not good..

Dear reviewer,

I am extremely sorry to hear that your stay with us was not quite what you had have hoped, we do take all guest feedback and comments very seriously and regularly use it to improve out hotel.

I have taken your comments about the wall paper and other issues raised in your room on board and these have been put to our full time decorator who is addressing the problems. Could I suggest that the TV may have needed re-tuning? Occasionally when cleaning around the televisions our chamber maids accidently disconnect the areal from the back of the TV, this is very simple to put right if we are informed.

I have had no other reports of kitchen extraction coming on a 05:15am this I certainly NOT standard practice at our hotel nor do we have any kitchen staff present at that time, our extraction does come on just before breakfast begins, we rarely have any issues arising from this as most of our guests are getting ready to go down and eat at this time anyway.
As stated in your review due to being very full at the time of your booking we could not move you to a room where you would have been more happy, this is something that we always endeavour to do.

We do hope to see you back at the Suncliff very soon where you can view the changes made as a direct result of you review.

This was a last min.com and was worried after reading some bad reviews. My husband and I booked in for 3 nights,When we saw our first room we were not too happy as it was a famiy room with 5 beds, but with out any fuss our room was exchanged for a double, the room was quite cold again with no fuss a heater was supplied within minutes. My I thank the house keeping staff as our room was spotless and clean, and everything worked as it should, we had a very comfy stay, also may I thank Chef and his team, we ate every night and each day the food was high class and lots of choice, this also was with our breakfast I could not fault it at all, the waiting staff were extreamly profesional which was a credit to the restaurant manager. I would like to say well done to the managers as they run a tight ship and it showed, it was a pleasure to stay there. The majority of guest that stayed there were elderly, but that ensured no party noise, or hassle from drunken louts which suited our stay for a chilled out break. WELL DONE SUNCLIFF HOTEL and thanks.

Dear Happy Customer

Just a quick word to saya huge thank you for taking the time to post your positive comments and thoughts about our hotel. We all felt that your review was very honest and accurate and will aid others greatly when choosing to book with us.
Your comments will be viewed by many of our staff, it really does provide them with satisfaction and gives them a boost to continue their good work. More often than not it is the not so good reviews that seem to make their way onto Trip Advisor, this does not provide an accurate picture of our hotel and its many happy guests that stay with us time and time again but unfortunately this is the unfair reality. So once again a really BIG thank you for taking the time to paint an honest picture of the Suncliff.
We all look forward to welcoming you back to Bournemouth and the Suncliff again soon.

Kind regards,
