Went during august with my mum and fiancee, we booked a single room and a double, however the single room was actually bigger.
The only complaint I would have is the size of our room and the state of the bathroom.
The breakfast was great, plenty of variety.
Short walk from the beach, it was really sunny when we went, the hotel staff were really lovely.

Having had many "Turkey *& Tinsell" holidays all over the country staying at the Suncliff outshone all of the others. The staff very helpful, the room great and everything very clean. The dining room staff excellent and the food outstanding. After 4 nights there I would have been more than happy to stay longer and will definitely be going back. Well done.

Do not bother going anywhere else apart from this place for a carvery. I used to love a decent Sunday carvery but have found in the last few years that most well-known pub carvery’s have become dull and tasteless and the whole dining experience made me feel as though I was back at school at lunch time.
I found The Suncliff Hotel online and took a risk by booking a table for 30 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We all arrived and were greeted by a very welcoming member of staff. We were offered drinks in the lounge bar and were then escorted to the main dining room.
The dining room seats around 200 people but it did not feel too busy. The tables are nicely spaced out so it does not feel that you are imposing on the other diners.
A very talented pianist was sat in the corner playing relaxing music, adding a wonderful atmosphere to the experience.
The food was outstanding. Unlike most carvery’s the meat servings were plentiful. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the other great selections of meat. There was plenty to choose from for vegetarians too. We were spoilt for choice with the vegetables as well.
Considering the place was busy, our party of 30 were exceptionally looked after by the very attentive, well presented, polite staff.
There were a lot of families with children of all ages and every member of each family was made to feel very welcome.
We were all very full after our meals and could have stayed all day soaking up the relaxed atmosphere.
I was reluctant to post a fantastic review as I am worried I may not be able to book a table in the future. Give this place a try and I know that you will never go anywhere else for a delicious carvery. A very big thank you to all the staff who work so hard to make this a brilliant experience. Thanks x

Stayed at the Suncliff for 2 nights, to kick start our Christmas shopping, so was very happy to the Xmas decks wereup!! we had a great stay and good value, yes the mattress in our room324 could do with replacing but we both slept well. The staff are very helpful and happy, the breakfast was very filling. Will definitely return and recommend.

Just had an underwhelming stay at The Suncliffe. Lots of reasons, on arrival reception area totally underimpressive, although as many people have already said the staff were polite and welcoming. Our room itself was spotlessly clean, however a lightbulb needed replacing above the bed, the switches for which were hidden behind the headboard, when you leant on it the lights went off! The pillows were really hard slabs of foam, when I asked at reception for softer pillows this was met with some confusion. The bathroom was absolutely freezing, there was no towel radiator to dry the towels, the towel rail was hanging off the wall, from about 8.45 am until 9.45 pm there was the constant loud noise of an extractor fan on outside the skylight in the bathroom ceiling which meant that the bathroom door had to be kept closed, hence no heat from the bedroom went in to warm it up a bit! On top of that, the shower was virtually non existant with only a trickle of water. This was reported however no action was taken, although I suspect this was because it was a Sunday? Also missing was the rubber sealing strip at the bottom of the shower screen so any water coming out of the shower was running out onto the floor. Surely the majority of these problems should have been picked up and rectified by Housekeeping? The breakfast was plentiful and again the staff very polite and welcoming, however some different choices would have been nice instead of exactly the same option each day, if a fried breakfast is not what you like then you were left with the option of toast. Some slightly different choices would have rung the changes a little. Nice swimming pool, however the changing rooms were way below par, freezing cold, no privacy cubicles, showers not working properly, no spinner or bags for wet costumes, in dire need of decoration.

stayed in the penthouse William for 3 days, this has got to be the best ever, views over sea excellent, the huge bathroom is to die for, the large 7ft bed was so comfortable, the whole room was great. The staff on reception especially Nicholas were very helpful and informative. The indoor pool was brilliant. Food was lovely with plenty to choose from. It was my birthday while i was there and the restaurant manager found out, and presented me with a candle on a slice of chocolate cake while singing happy birthday to me at breakfast. They certainly now how to make you feel special. We hope to book again next year and will definitely book penthouse again and recommend it to friends. WELL DONE.

Room Tip: Be a little extravagant and book the penthouse William, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you for leaving such a glowing review of your stay, I’m glad it was an enjoyable one. Our penthouse rooms with sea view and balcony are particularly special, ideal if you are celebrating a special occasion such as a birthday. The hotel staff work hard to ensure that every guest is taken care of and it’s lovely to have such positive feedback as many of them check TripAdvisor reviews regularly. Good to see you also enjoyed our indoor leisure facilities which are free of charge for all our guests.
I hope you return to the Suncliff again and look forward to welcoming you back in future.
Best wishes,
Tom Pinn, Assistant manager

We booked B&B at a bargain rate and didn't expect a lot but were pleasantly surprised.
Lovely welcome by the Receptionist who was friendly but professional. The room we were given was small but very clean. We had the Sunday Carvery which was lovely and decided to stay in the hotel for a couple of drinks and experience the entertainment. Amanda was so funny - had a lovely singing voice and played the clarinet beautifully. It was a bit strange having all the Christmas decorations up so early but they have just started doing Turkey and Tinsel breaks.
Breakfast was excellent - as were all the staff in the restaurant!
I have just one negative comment which I did mention when I was there - please replace the mattress in Room 323!

Room Tip: Room 323 very small!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, I’m glad it was such a positive one. The Sunday carvery offers great value for money and is always popular with hotel guests and local residents alike, particularly now the weather is getting colder. Amanda has been performing at the Suncliff for some time and always proves popular with guests, I even find myself often laughing along to her jokes! We are always trying to improve the quality of our accommodation and are working though our bedrooms to update and replace items where needed, the mattress you mentioned will be next to receive our attention so thank you for pointing this out to us.
I hope you chose to stay at the Suncliff again in future.
Kind Regards,
Tom Pinn, Assistant Manager
