Recently ate here on a Saturday night after trip down to Poole and very impressed with the food. Was expecting a French style menu for some reason but pleased with what was on offer. Started with the sweet corn cakes which were delicious and crispy & the smashed crab & apple pot which was fresh & the apple really worked with the crab & crayfish meat & mayo alongside the toasted granary bread.

We both had the sea bass fillets off the blackboard special menu and and they were served with a lovely crushed potato & leek sauce with white wine. Drank a botlle of white wine which was reasonably priced and tap water. Did finish with Irish Coffees which were lacking with the Irish and tasted more like milky coffees but drinkable.

The staff were all friendly & nice. The seating is a little irratic as some are booths around a table and some are high stools with a a high table and there are some regular tables in the middle so it is pot luck as to where you will be seating. It becomes more of a bar scene the later in the evening it is.

Been meaning to give eau de vie a try after several good reports from friends.

Popped in for lunch a couple of days ago and had a great time.

Choice was limited but the food was fresh and creative and presented with effort and enthusiasm.

Two coffees each and a light lunch for £20 - sounds good value to me !

Looking forward o Sunday lunch here soon .

Popped in for a lunchtime bite last weekend, but it was not as good as we had been led to believe. And pricey !
The high tables with the "tractor" seats were really uncomfortable but after a while we moved into a "sofa" very comfotable but not ideal for eating.
The Market Burger was quite good but at over £12 so it should be my other half had the "fish and Chips" when we added a couple of glasses of wine and coffees we were over £40 for quick lunch. We also found it was a little colder than was comfortable

We stopped off here whilst shopping in Westbourne and really felt like we had found a gem. The food on the menu is innovative and interesting and all freshly cooked. We couldn't decide what to have and the waiter was extremely helpful in explaining what dishes were like to help us choose. It was great to see someone who knew the menu and explain it with enthusiasm too. We chose lamburgers - when they came they were so suucculent and tasty, the wedge chips were crispy and fantastic and the salad so tasty. The lady on the table net to us had a siphon coffee - when the waiter delivered it after it had brewed for 4 mins through a siphon, he explained the flavour of the coffee and later came back to ask the lady what she thought. It really felt like the staff cared about what they were doing. As we left, the staff were making cocktails for someone - they looked and sounded so innovative. We will definitely return, not only for lunch but also in the evening for a few drinks and to listen to the regular live music they also have. A fantastic find all round.
