Recently ate here on a Saturday night after trip down to Poole and very impressed with the food. Was expecting a French style menu for some reason but pleased with what was on offer. Started with the sweet corn cakes which were delicious and crispy & the smashed crab & apple pot which was fresh & the apple really worked with the crab & crayfish meat & mayo alongside the toasted granary bread.
We both had the sea bass fillets off the blackboard special menu and and they were served with a lovely crushed potato & leek sauce with white wine. Drank a botlle of white wine which was reasonably priced and tap water. Did finish with Irish Coffees which were lacking with the Irish and tasted more like milky coffees but drinkable.
The staff were all friendly & nice. The seating is a little irratic as some are booths around a table and some are high stools with a a high table and there are some regular tables in the middle so it is pot luck as to where you will be seating. It becomes more of a bar scene the later in the evening it is.
