Lovely Sandy beach, bit pebbly in places but still lovely. lots of places to rinse your feet off after you've got them covered in sand.

i would recommend heading up nearer the Boscombe pier, bit of a trek but the beach is even more pleasant and most familys don't seem to want to walk that far so there's a bit more space if it's a busy day

The Sea was lovely here, nice and shallow for a good distance so really good for familys.

There is a fair bit of litter, but sadly that seems true of most busy tourist beaches these days

We visited Bournemouth for the 1st time in July 2013 & would probably say it's the best beach we've been to in the Uk, just ahead of Bridlington. It's a pity so many people leave so much rubbish behind when bins are provided, it's disgusting. The local council do a fair job of cleaning up each day but it's such a shame so many people have to behave like animals. Parking in the area is a little pricey.

We visited Bournemouth beach on a hot day. This was in the week just before the school summer holidays. It was busy but there was still space available not too far from the pier. The sea was a little cold when you got in but you soon got used to it. Other than swimming and sunbathing we bought a hot dog and some chips (which were a little overpriced). We also had ice lollies from a place on the prom. You could also buy ice creams from the ice cream boat that visited the beach frequently.

lovely sand, plenty of parking, food options, toilets, lifeguards, very family friendly, on one of the hottest days of the year this stretch of beach swallowed up many people when we visited as you walked towards Boscombe away from the town, it was busy but we still had our space, deckchairs about £3 for the day, disabled drivers have access straight to the seafront, brilliant, highly recommend
