Unfortunately was not impressed at all, the outside is not very welcoming, as we went into our room there was a smell and there was dirt by the radiators which had not been cleaned properly, however the staff were accomodating and provided us with another room, was hoping for a newly refurbished room, but unfortunately the family rooms have not been refurbished, would not stay there again.

We agree that the room first provided was not cleaned properly and that we should have picked this up and corrected it before letting it to a client. We did provide another larger room for the client. We should have done better first time around.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights b&b, first impression was that the building outside and as you walked in the reception area looked quite shabby. The hotels position is excellent easy access to beach ,shops and restaurants
The staff were very pleasant and efficient.
Breakfast was well prepared and the dining area modern, comfortable nicely decorated with views to the rear gardens.
The double room we had although clean was in desperate need of refurbishment, the floor boards being particularly creaky.
Major disappointment being the bathroom, which was a trip back to the sixties, the shower head and riser rail was new, but the low water pressure for the shower resulted in little more than a trickle of water from the head.
We did not make any complaints as we felt you get what you pay for.
Capitalise on the Tony Hancock history!

At last a genuine negatative review - clearly the client had one of our non-refurbished rooms but accepted that as our rates reflect this they did receive value for money.

The concerns about the shower - the local water board asked hotels to fit new shower heads which take air in so reduce water flow. We have had complaints about the resultant pressure and it sadly looks like its a 'downer' for the environment as we will have to take them out again and put the conventional shower head back in except in those rooms where we have power showers.

The 'outside looks tatty' I didn't really get as we are 90% of the way through re-painting the outside of the hotel. Tony Hancock's father, (famous 1950s' tv comic), designed the building and he rather obviously didn't have a feel for architecture - it is flat roofed and not by any stretch a 'pretty building' . I suspect that is what the writer is on about.

We stayed for 1 night in a double room, the double bed was very small and room was very dated also very creaky floor boards. The shower was just a dribble. Very disappointing over priced hotel!

Because we are having a spate of 'hate' trip adviser comments all originated from the same individual it is difficult to separate genuine poor comments from the 'hate campaign' comments. I note this individual has not writtent to Trip Adviser before and has no personal details on their background data. Was somewhat surprised that the individual ratings were 3 or 4 but the overall only 2. But this could be a genuine review from a client who had one of our 'non-refurbished' rooms. Though somewhat surprised about the 'shower' comments and the 'over-priced' comments. Last thing we are is over-priced.

On booking the Hotel we were looking for something clean and comfortable for a one night stay and Hotel Celebrity seemed to be just up our street....with lovely pictures and talk of a good breakfast all for a reasonable price. On arrival however we realised this was not quite the case! The car park was very small and completely rammed with cars, so much for plenty of parking spaces! As we approached the hotel it only got worse, it was very dated and looked incredibly run down. As we walked through the hotel it didn't look like it had been updated or given a good clean in years and looked nothing like the pictures. Even the staircase seemed to groan and creek! Our room looked like it had been recently "updated" however there were already stains all over the carpets and walls, even on the bed sheets and towels. The bathroom was dated and smelt very damp, with peeling wall paper and numerous damp patches. Their was no air conditioning or offering of a fan, and although it wasn't a particularly hot day, it was swelteringly hot. This was only the start of a horrific nights sleep! At about 11 o'clock the noise from the room above began and did not let up until well in to the early hours of the morning. We did not sign up for any entertainment, and especially not seedy brothel like porn. Unfortunately reception did not seem to care, even after numerous complaints and did not consider our request to be moved. If it wasn't so late at night we would of gone to a different hotel, however being high season and being nieve enough to believe the room above would shut up we decided to stay. The floorboards creeked at every movement, and the floors were incredibly thin, we could verything (including conversation) from the room above and the constant walking of people throughout the corridors during the night. This hotel is horrendous and I would not recommend it to anyone. It was seedy and filthy and was like sleeping in a Brothel. All they needed was a red light! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!

Room Tip: There are no good rooms - damp, musty smell, stains on walls and carpets. Stained bed sheets and tow...

We are currently in the middle of a 'hate campaign' generated by an individual we are taking legal action against....clients will note this is a 'first review' as are the others which are 'setups' as part of the campaign against the hotel. This is the third such 'review'.

Room was large and comfortable, breakfast excellent and staff helpful. The location is really good, just a stroll walk to the sea and less than 8 minutes walk to the shopping centre, pubs and restaurants. The outside looks a bit dated but inside is ok although not luxurious is very good value for money. We would also recommended dinner in the casablanca restaurant, nice menu and again reasonably priced.

'although not luxurious is very good value for money' is the part of the above review I would ask readers to think on. We are a good 3 star hotel offering budget prices, excellent staff and food, a bit dated .... where do you want to spend your money on a bedroom or in Bournemouth during your stay ? There are excellent 4 star hotels but the price is about three times what we charge and if we are in your price bracket then we are a very excellent choice.

We are always pretty busy, but we do have 2 car parks and an excellent bar/restaurant/lounge and family (kids play room), on the ground floor.

My wife and I stayed for two nights and were dissapointed from the moment we tried to park in the tiny overcrowed carpark and saw how badly painted the outside was. The carpet in the room was very warn, the furniture was tatty and obviously nothing had been updated for many years. To be fair we did only pay £60 per night B+B.

'Tiny overdcrowded car park'. We have two car parks the front one holds around 34 cars, the rear car park around 10 cars. We have 53 client bedrooms and have yet to find a time when a client can't park in one of the two car parks. Some sat nav's take clients to the rear of the hotel so the rear car park. Maybe the client didn't realise that they were at the back car park where there is only a small car park.

The bit about the badly painted. At that time a contractor was about 65% of the way through re-painting the whole outside of the hotel building. The contractor is using ladders not scaffolding so maybe the client thought that the hotel 'outside' painting was the final version...who knows.

The real issue though, raised by the client, is that they had a cheap rate.....we are very competitive on price. We do have a mix of refurbished and non-refurbished rooms and our rates are based on 'non-refurbished'.

To save even more money we suggest clients book direct and so receive a voucher for 10% off food and drink bought during their stay. We save on agents fees if you book direct so pass that on with the discount we offer. We guarantee there is no agent anywhere that has a cheaper rate than we offer to those who phone direct.

We stayed on a week night and got a very good price compared to other hotels nearby. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, modern and comfortable. The location was excellent, 5 mins from the beach. Breakfast was lovely and they had a nice room for my 4 year old to play! Parking can be a bit difficult in the evening but I was expecting that in Bournemouth anyway, and the extra bed was uncomfortable.
Overall we had a lovely stay and want to go again :-)

Nice review to read. We do try very hard to ensure our prices are very competitive as we realize many of our clients are on a budger and prefer to spend money on the beach or shopping - there are two car parks and often clients miss the 'rear' car park as it is accessed from a road at the back of the hotel. For those who realize that value for money is very important may I suggest they book directly with the hotel rather than via an agent. We save the agent fees and so offer all clients who book direct 10% off all food and drink purchased at the hotel during their stay. Makes a fair difference - our bar and food prices, (great food), are already very competitive and lower than most of our competitor hotels so the 10% off is a real bargain.
