“Great Wadsworth Beer and Good Pub Food”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Wadsworth of Devizes is an excellent very traditional brewery that owns few pubs but thankfully there is at least one of them in Bournemouth. Spending my youth a few miles from Devizes made 6X my regular pint for a number of years and it was a delight to discover how well it is served in the Goat & Tricycle, and their Bishop's Tipple is very good too. This was a great place for a drink and a meal before seeing the wonderful Rodriquez at the BIC, which is about a ten minute walk away. The menu is quite limited but it includes a decent range of tasty homemade burgers with a vegetarian option which is, I'm told, every bit as good as the 'real thing'. A goat stew is also on the menu, which goes some way to explain the pub name. The sweet potato chips that came with the falafel and spinach burger were really delicious and beautifully cooked but it's a shame they aren't offered as an alternative to regular ones with the beef burgers. It is all reasonably priced too - two meals and two and a half pints came to under £30. The friendly and efficient staff make sure you get good service as well. I don't go to Bournemouth often but from now on I'll visit the Goat and Tricycle every time.

“Friendly traditional pub, excellent selection of beers and good food.”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

This is one of the very few, good traditional pubs left in Bournemouth. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Good choice of food and it is always excellent value for money. We always enjoy the Sunday night quizzes.

“Liver and Bacon .Yum .Yum .”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

My boyfriend and I went here for a meal and a drink!...I used to live up the road from this lovely pub and I used to be a regular there ,before I moved back to Tenerife ....
My boyfriend loved the place straight away as they have "Real Ales"...Not as that bothers me as I don't drink beer.. My favourite meal there is liver and bacon ..and we had that of coarse ...It was cooked perfect as always ..The rest of the food here is brill as well ..You get "Daily Specials" or from a menu card !
Its off the beaten track for the tourists but gets very full ,especially on the weekends ..
So get there early if you want to get a seat ..

“Not only a good selection of beers”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

The G&T has well deserved good reviews for its beers and atmosphere. We ate there with friends on Saturday night, wisely booking a table at 7.00 - it was heaving by 9 p.m. The selection of food was good with about 6 specials chalked up and a standard menu. Our selections including goat burger (its was only the cheese that originated from a goat!), liver and bacon casserole and fish & chips were all of good size and quality. Its not top-end stuff either in price or quality but after ordering from the bar service was prompt and pleasant. Not for a quiet romantic night, but for a good chatty evening with friends its ideal.
