A nice old pub with a hearty welcome. Fantastic food. Our dog was made very welcome and reassuringly no under 18 are allowed which means no fear of your pooch being chastised by wandering toddlers. The staff are very friendly and helpful, checking that you are happy with your meal. This pub is frequently visited by local tourists so has a nice chatty atmosphere. Having walked 6 miles along the sea front, we were really hungry. £51 bought us a shared starter and pudding, the main courses were very generous and super tasty. Hats off to the chef and all the staff. I will be recommending this pub to all my friends and family who have a dog and are planning a day trip to bournemouth. Also the Sky Sports is on in both bars and is on silent so as not to disturb. Please note this is not suitable if you want a quiet meal.

A real English Pub !! And they are hard to find.

11 Real Ales in excellent condition, with try before you buy. Or buy 3 x 1/3 pints for price of pint.

Great food at reasonable prices, real Goat Curry is well worth a try.

Only downside was house wine was £15.50 a bottle which i found a bit steep.

Will return without a doubt

We visited here last May whilst we were on a break there with our dog and had already looked up dog friendly places that we could eat.

It's not too far of a walk from the beach depending which side you are on.

The pub is large and friendly, the bar area was busy and buzzing so must be very popular.

We found a quite table in the dining bit so that the dog could lay under the table and not get trodden on or in the way! We walked him for miles that day so he pretty much just passed straight out and slept!

Another couple came in with a dog and sat on the table behind.

The food is fantastic - lots of choice and cooked very well. I'd say gastro level cuisine. We were amazed with the place and it exceed our expectations.

There is a courtyard outside as well if you want to sit out.

Very reasonably prized and fantastic for those visiting with dogs! We would definitely go again!
