“Huge portions”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

Great choice of ALes. Food very good (as for pub standard). Enormous portions. Great value for money. If you are very hungry you won't be disappointed.

“Beer and service gone downhill”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Been there when visiting Bournemouth, this time very disappointing, service not good, beer usually good was not nice at all, my friend had a bad stomach after the visit.

Expensive, went to the Wetherspons afterwards same round half the price, and same beer much superior, will not be visiting here again.

“off the beaten track but a great find”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

from the outside it looks old and traditional and when you enter its like walking back in time to victorian times and its clean comfortable and well laid out - the staff are helpful, pleasant and attentive and the food we had was excellent - fresh, ample and well prepared and served. The selection of real ales is outstanding and the range of wines compliments the food and we'd recommend this place either for a drink and a snack or an evening meal with friends.

“Wow - great pub !!”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

This pub is a hidden gem ! Ive eaten lunches here a few times and always found the food excellent (no microwave rubbish ..), and great value for money , so decided to book a xmas meal here with friends. I had the traditional turkey - it was superb !! , Everything was freshly cooked, of wonderful quality, really generous portions, and served by such warm and friendly staff ! Im going to book again next week and try the lamb, which everyone said was delicious also !

With it's superior food and superior staff who really do go that extra mile for their customers, the Goat and Tricycle surpasses any of the other pubs in Bournemouth !

Go try it !

“Excellent selection of ales..”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

... in this pub near the top end of Commercial Road. Today (a typical day), there were five from Wadworths, and five guest ales. Popular with town centre workers, on two levels (reflecting perhaps its previous existence as two establishments); all-day food, with five or so specials and a larger standard British menu. Service is pleasant, and you don't wait long. Look out for the collection of walking sticks on the bar ceiling.
