Reading some of the negative reviews, I find it hard to believe they are talking about the same hotel!! I stayed here with my sister. We have both stayed in countless hotels in the UK and abroad of all classes and agreed that this hotel compared very favourably to other 4* hotels. The room was spotless, tastefully decorated and well equipped with comfortable beds. The staff were very helpful, welcoming and friendly and breakfasts were varied and tasty. The only negative here was that the coffee was instant and too weak for our taste but the staff did make it stronger for us.
The parking is £12 a night but it is very convenient and secure.

room at front of hotel comfortable but a bit noisy at night
slowest lift i have ever been in
breakfast a bit of a disappointment; coffee in pots vile and £3 for a 'real coffee'; ok range of fruits, etc but a bit unimaginative
certainly not 4 stars or anything like it
but not awful overall - just a bit dull
quite expensive

We arrived at this hotel and we were both pleased with what we found. The outside looked really really nice.
We looked to park and found the hotel charged £50 for an overnight stay to park our car.
So we used the ncp car park for a tenner for 24 hours.
We were greeted by a staff member who was very nice and given are room keys.
On entering our room the bathrooms are very nice but the rooms are very very basic and old including the bedding.
I was awake half the night because the windows are so old and knackered they constantly rattle and bang.
I mentioned this to the night porter who said it is quite noisey at night. But failed to help our situation at 5am and no sleep.
Then we went for breakfast the staff were stood over us and clearing our table before we had finished our food. which i found a bit annoying.
After this my girlfriend was getting dressed and our door opened for a housekeeper to be escorting a repair man into the room to measure up for new curtains. despite the fact she had knocked 5 mins previous and i went to the door and spoke to her and said we wouldnt require house keeping cause we would be checking out in an hour. Now i ignored the reviews and wish i had listened.
The exterior is amazing, but the hotel and how its run is like faulty towers for a 4 star hotel it makes me very concerned on what level this is judged cause this is barely a one star. the service u get at a premier inn is 1000 times better than this. The price of the food are also terrible it was £12 for a sandwich and £6 for two coffees! BE WARNED STAY AWAY!!!!!!

my wife and i stayed 2 nights late july and we couldnt find any faults.we were greeted by friendly staff and were shown to our room, first impression was a large clean renovated room with a huge comfy bed with a spotless bathroom, We had a swim and sauna/steam room ok the pool is small but its ok to have a dip,we didnt have a car so i cant comment on the car park charges. The hotel is right in the centre of town within close range of excellent bars and restaurants 2 bars i loved were the ink bar right opposite the hotel and aruba on the pier one of the most delightful bar/restaurant i have been to home or abroad i must say we got an excellant rate on lastminute.com so my review is based on value for money

Be Warned! Nice Hotel exterior, but when we checked in for this hotel whilst waiting in the tiny forecourt with our small car, we were directed to the hotel car park round back and underground. We were never told or expected it to be charged as have been to much nicer hotels both in and out of town that are always free or included in the room costs. After squeezing through and risking scrapping the sides of our small car getting in and out of the car park, which is old, steep ramps, small spaces, no maneouvering room, we parked in a damp hole of an undergound car park dangerous by modern standards and without lighting ! Then when we checked out only then were we told the car park charge was extra ! An extra £12,00 !!! to be precise, which was never mentioned to use before and only then pointed out on a bill produced there and then !! We could have not paid as having not been informed previously, but just wanted to get out of there !!

Be warned of this unbelievable hidden cost ! and please just park nearby in one of the NCP public car parks (one just further down on Richmond Hill) which is FREE after 10pm as is public parking in most towns and cities if not earlier.

The hotel itself is an ok older town building, but the interior is rough round the edges, with dated elements, and definatley not 4 star facilities with an old small pool and spa (broken when we were there), small restaurant breakfast was ok) and bar, and poor service more typical of a 2 or 3 star hotel. This hotel should have its fourth star rating removed especially with its poor extortinate parking facilities ! There are plenty of better hotels in bournemouth with only 3 star ratings !

My boyfriend & I booked this hotel for my birthday weekend through lastminute.com as a top sercret hotel & I have to say was very concerned when read the reviews on this site. If I'm honest I really wasn't looking forward to our stay as we are both very fussy & I am a clean freak!!

We arrived mid saturday evening & were very pleasantly surprised! We were greated by a very friendly receptionist which I was surprised about having read the recent reviews. Our room was fantastic, very modern & boutique style with great interior design, the bathroom was lovely & stocked with Molten Brown products which we both felt was a very nice touch! We have both stayed in lots of hotels in England & abroad and totally agree this is one of the best! My only regret is that we hadn't arrived earlier & couldn't stay Sunday night too as we had to be home for work the next day.

If I had to make any negative comments it would only be that the shower tended to flood the bathroom as the shower screen wasn't wide enough & they could have done with a few more channels on the very nice LCD TV.
