The day before our arrival we got told we had been upgraded to this hotel from The Ocean View next door. My friend, her young son and I paid £36 for the night and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the hotel. We believed we would get two twins bed and had asked for a cot also (free of charge) but got a family room instead, with the cot also. The decor in the halls and entrance area was lovely, very characteristic and unusual, however this had been toned down in the rooms which was nice. The room was very clean and everything you could have wanted was provided. Also we could see the sea from our beds which was another great surprise!

The only downside was that the lift was old fashioned and very small so not great for my friend who dislikes lifts anyway! It was noisy like others have said but barely noticeable from our room. Also when we arrived we enquired about the restaurant and the reception staff booked us a table however when we got to the restaurant the menu only consisted of about 5 starters, mains and desserts and you could only have the set menu of 3 courses and a glass of wine for £16. Although this would have been a good meal, none of the meals were to our taste and we had not been planning on sitting down for a 3 course meal with a young child. We did wonder why the deal was not mentioned when we booked or why there was not a menu in our room with the other bits of hotel information. We did find a lovely harvester 10 mins away on the pier which we thoroughly enjoyed though!

Room Tip: Don't bother paying more for a room with a view because you'll most likely have one anyway.

Thank you for your comments and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay. A shame that you couldn't find anything on the menu to your tastes, I think our Chef would have relished the opportunity to have cooked you something else if at had been mentioned at the time.

Since your visit we have launched our new season wine and dine menu, offering 2 courses and a glass of wine for just £14.95 or 3 courses for an additional £3.50. We also have the a la carte menu available and a substantial bar and lounge menu providing a range of offerings, from sandwiches (£5.50) to a variety of salads (£8.95) or for those with a hearty appetite our famous Cottonwood prime burger.

Menus are soon to be in all of the bedrooms and we are calling guests prior to arrival to see if they would like to book a table before their stay or have any other requirements.

Thank you once again for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you to the hotel in the near future.

The rooms are very generous size and the beds are large and comfortable. The bed had a selection of pillows to choose from. I stayed on the 1st floor and found it very quiet and relaxing. The staff were helpful and always available. Breakfast was very nice with a wide selection and surely something to suit everybody.

Room Tip: I cant imagine that there are any bad rooms but stayed in room 17 and found it comfortable and quiet

Stayed for 2 nights. Lovely boutique hotel within walking distance of town. Delicious breakfast & enormous sandwiches provided on room service. Very comfortable twin room. No complaints except the room next to the lift is a bit noisy (26) but you won't notice if you're night owls like us!

We were moved to this hotel without our consent, and shown to a room that was very small, and very dark. Then shown to a room that was adaquate, no more than that.
We were then informed that we would have to pay extra to stay in that room.
The bed was uncomfortable, and the e-suite was very small, and our view of the sea was through very small window.
The cottenwood is not a hotel I would stay at again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the hotel are very small, and dark.
