“Short break.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

My partner and I stayed here for two nights, it was warm and comfortable and a good location.

My only complaint would be that there was some kind of Saga convention while we were there, which essentially meant that there were not any humans under the age of 80 in the hotel. Nothing wrong with that really, but it kind of made an atmosphere of a nursing home. I'd rather be around a mix of ages.

The hotels restaurant was of very good quality, they had a set price menu of around £24pp which was excellent. Even if I don't stay there again, I would certainly eat there again.

The room was nice. It was clean and comfortable, yet not remarkable.

The staff were friendly, one blond girl on the desk was especially helpful. Although in the breakfast room is was tricky to get the attention of the staff, but not really an issue as it is self-service.

Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor. We do have a contract with SAGA and although it is normally over 50's, we had a slighter older group quite recently, probably the time that you stayed.
It is always nice to give these guests a holiday and be part of helping them enjoy themselves, but I take your point about the age difference. It doesn't happen often, but I am sure that if you choose to return the age range of the other guests will be more suitable for you.
Thank you once again and please contact our General Manager, Daniel Marsh on 01202 554415 to discuss a future stay.

Room size was very good there was a double and a single bed in the room. Tea making facilities were also available. Bathroom looked dated and I had to fix the toilet seat and the shower before using.
Breakfast was canteen like and the day I stayed was quite busy so staff were stretched. The chairs in the breakfast room had seen better days. Only stayed one night so did not use the spa/swimming facilities. Overall - worth the price but needs a facelift. Very helpful staff and good parking facilities made it a worthwhile visit.

Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor. I am pleased that you had a good stay, but sorry to hear that you were not too happy about a couple of things in your room. We have started a huge refurbishment program on the rooms recently so more rooms will be of a higher standard as we go through the year. Please contact our General Manager, Daniel Marsh on 01202 554415 to discuss the room you stayed in as we need to put these things right for you.
Many Thanks

This year we have an important family wedding in December,so the normal summer holiday trip abroad was reduced to weekend breaks in the U.K. Most of the hotels we used were 3 and 4 star rating, but the variation in them was amazing! The only one which we would happily go back to was the Queens Hotel in Bournemouth. The jewel in their crown was the amazing day spa and beauty clinic called Forever Gorgeous. It was the perfect escape for the one rainy day on our visit to Bournemouth. The rest of the facilities i.e. room, food, staff etc were all good and I find it hard to find fault with anything. In comparison to the other similarly priced U.K hotels this one comes highly recommended. Will definitely go back again. Vicki N.

Excellent hotel would recommend it to anyone.
Tried the Spa facilities, pool, jacuzzi and sauna were excellent. Shame the steam room was out of order. Generally the spa experience was very good.
The room was excellent, spacious and clean, well decorated and comfy beds.
The bar was good but expensive, with freindly staff which liked to wander off just when needed.
As a smoker I was catered for in the garden.
Self service breakfast was great with all you could wish for and more.

An old bed, hairs on the bathroom tiles, broken balcony door lock. We were part of a group stay, unfortunately this was a real disappointment, even down to the dirty glasses in the bar, that the staff thought unreasonable...sorry but not again.

We initially got off to a shaky start, on arrival we were allocated a very small room overlooking the Kitchen roof, which was totally inappropriate for £94 per night even allowing for the dinner bed breakfast rate. Acceptable for the cheap Coach holiday package certainly, but not for the rate we were paying. The reception took the point well, and we were moved immediately to a very good sized room which had a lovely outlook. It would benefit from some fresh wallpaper, carpet and a coat of paint, but reception told me that they have an upcoming redecoration programme in January. When this is done the place will be spot on.

The Evening meals are absolutely fantastic. Varied menus, superbly cooked and presented, the standard would put a lot of far more expensive Hotels, and so called exclusive Restaurants to shame. Even Gordon Ramsay would have a problem finding fault here. And the waiting staff are very friendly, efficient and eager to please.

The Breakfast is on a buffet basis. Huge quantity of food, nicely cooked and presented, and a most enjoyable way to start the day off.

All the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, and made us feel very welcome and at home.

There is a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi, as well as a sauna and steam room. Unfortunately the steam room was out of order throughout our stay.

We enjoyed the food, and the attentive service of the staff so much that we extended our four day break to five, and we will definitely be coming back again for a short break before Christmas as we had such a wonderful time here.

My only criticisms would be to ensure that the small rooms without a view should be reserved only for the cheap Coach holiday packages, where the price paid does not warrant more, at full rate people have the right to expect a good sized room with a pleasant outlook, and as I say some of the rooms would benefit from redecoration.

But overall this Hotel is well above the usual standard of three star Hotels I have stayed in, or in many cases endured in England, and with some refurbishment will undoubtedly be in a class of its own in Bournemouth.

Many thanks to every one at the Queens Hotel and we will see you very soon.

Room Tip: If you are paying full rate, make sure the Hotel understands you expect a good sized room with a dec...

Thank you for your great review on Trip Advisor. I am pleased that your room situation was quickly rectified by our wonderful staff and you found the food to be fantastic. I will let the head chef know that you are comparing his food to Gordon Ramsey! We have already started our room refurbishment program so when you choose to return, please contact Daniel Marsh, our General Manager and he will upgrade you to one of the newly refurbished rooms.
Thank you once again.
