Very lovely staff, efficient and friendly. Hotel public areas glitzy and glam. Relaxed atmosphere. Superb position on cliff top overlooking sea. Excellent food, especially evening meal in the red room. Weve had some really naff meals out lately so were not expecting such a high standard on a deal. But the roast rib of beef was delicious, the salmon succulent and the ginger snap basket filled with cream and strawbs was luvverly. Muffin with coffee on arrival best I've ever eaten!

Very minor complaints. The fruit juice at breakfast was very watery and the furniture outside lift on the fourth floor was grubby. Also our mattress was unbelievably lumpy though it didnt stopus having a good nights sleep. To be fair we probably had a basic room as we were on a travelzoo offer and had the opportunity to upgrade for not much more. Room was large and nicely decorated but bathroom quite dated, although masses of hot water and clean towels. Having said that we would definitely return. All in all a very good experience. Thank you Cumberland for such an excellent deal.

Room Tip: Worth upgrading from the deal basic room.

Whilst not a 5 star hotel per se, this hotel offers amazing value got money. For £61 for two nights I was not expecting such a nice hotel or room. Guests are even able to use the indoor pool and sauna at the Sister hotel, if only I had packed my trunks. Would thoroughly recommend it!

Looked for a hotel with sea views for my birthday and was not disappointed. Had rooms
at front of hotel with fantastic views and were well decorated. Chose the weekend when 2 weddings were on and a bus load of people having a night out with a Titanic themed evening
and although the hotel was well full we were attended to with excellent service and there was a
nice ambience in the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was good and the menu was different each night and tables were set aside in the bar for hotel residents. For a 3 star hotel and reasonable rate it was an excellent 4 days and we would book again.

We stayed here through a lastminute.com deal, and found it to be excellent value for money. I suspect we paid the cheapest rate possible, as we stayed mid-week in November.

The best thing is the public rooms, bars, restaurants etc which are decorated very well and have a real atmosphere. The food was also very good quality and value, with main courses in the restaurant being 2 for 1 in the week. The outdoor pool looked good but, being november, I can't say we tried it (you'd have to be insane!!).

We were travelling with our baby, and the staff were more than helpful with all our luggage, despite their lift being tiny and us needing several trips.

The only down-side it the rooms themselves. Whilst ours was very large (which I requested on account of the baby) they do look quite dated. But it's hard to complain really, as we didn't spend very long in the room itself, and at £50 a night you can't complain!

Room Tip: Rooms on one side look over the pool, the other is a non-descript view of the car park and bins.

had our wedding here and couldnt fault anything our wedding planner Ali Burridge was absolutely amazing nothing was too much trouble for her and made both our lives running up to the wedding so much easier. our guests also commented on how fantastic the hotel was and it must have cost us a fortune, but in reality the wedding package we had was one of the cheapest around but the cost did not reflect the service we received, 1st class all round. Rooms were clean and had lovely sea views, breakfast next morning was great too even if we were all sat there with sore heads. a great big thankyou to all the staff will most definitely recommend you, in fact we already have

I would like to thank the staff at the Cumberland Hotel for making our wedding so perfect. The staff did everything we asked for and more:-) Our wedding planner Lisa did an amazing job through out the year before in planning and helping me with any queries.
We had many guests staying with the wedding party and all of them were extremely impressed with the service they received.
The standard of the bedrooms were excellent. The food was of a high standard.

Room Tip: sea views rooms are stunning
