We stayed at this Hotel 25th feb - 1st March. There were a number of problems and several guests were complaining. However as there was no operations manager nothing was resolved. On our return home I wrote to Brittania Customer relations who informed us that our letter would be dealt with by operations manager of the hotel and we are still waiting 4 weeks later. Of course as there was no operations manager how could they deal with it. Brittania need to get their act together! I have used brittania hotels many tim ein the past and had no problems, however this level of service is totally unacceptable.

On arrival the receptionist was very polite and checked us in quickly. Our room overlooked a small garden.Room was adequate and very warm. Although the bed was 4' 6" it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had all you required, working shower with plenty if hot water. Hotel decor a bit dated, but overall clean and tidy .
Evening meals had a choice of three main dishes all of which were hot, tasty and well presented.
Breakfast was a full English fry up or if you wanted to be healthy fruit and yogurt. On the whole for £80 per person for 3 nights (self drive) for BB & evening meal plus entertainment is excellent value for money.

Stayed for a fri / mon break with 99p bar for 3 hours a nite. Cost £90 each with breakfast and eve meal ..entertainment was on all 3 nights. Our room was warm , clean with decent beds but basic. Communal areas clean , bar bit slow . The food was very good . Plentiful and choices. Have as much as you want .the staff tried hard , but there was a lot of moaning going on . What do people expect for the price ? All in all a great cheap weekend .

We stayed at this hotel 15th-18th March weekend just gone, for a price of £99 each with "Justgo travel" bed-breakfast-eve meal. For the price we paid, there was nothing whatsoever to complain about . . . . . but after reading other reviews, I can only think some people just like to find fault and moan about something.
We had room 104B on the 1st floor . . . . there was no view, (but your only in there to sleep anyway).
I'll also state though, that as you walked in the door, there was 5 steps (with the bathroom situated just off) leading down to the bedroom. Not a problem to us, but possibly might be to an elderly couple.
The bathroom was very large with a newly fitted bath and shower over and white tiled throughout . . . . . and v. clean.
Yes, it was a bit noisey early morning . . . . . . It sounded like metal containers being banged around possibly from the kitchen area as I think our room may have been above it.
The radiator also seemed to make a continuous hissing sound (which we did get used to) but nothing that I found warranted to be reported as a complaint.
The room heating was nice and cosy . . . . . although there was an electric heater left in there, so I can only think a previous person must have requested it, on the fact the room was cold.
The food was buffet style and serve yourself . . . . . plenty of it, and a varied selection to choose from at both sittings. . . . . . you won't go hungry that's for sure!!
The only entertainment we saw was on the Sunday night, the guy was very good and sung and played to 60's music, but we were told that their other hotels (walking distance down the road) did lay something on each night, which you were wilcome to visit.
The only fault I have is that the first night the bar was open (hence my service rating), . . . . . . the bar person kept going missing . . . . I think he was serving at another bar area as well, and you had to go looking for him, which was a bit annoying. Why have a bar with nobody serving? But after that one night for the rest that followed, they put two guys behind to makeup for it. By the way the drinks were pretty expensive too, my drink white wine and lemonade £4 and they ran out of the wine to make matters worse!!
All in all, well worth the money and yes I would return. The main thing is it is spotlessy clean everywhere, and to me that would be a major issue if it wasn't. Thankyou we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Room 104B is possibly over the kintchen area, with no view, but It has a nice large bedroom and a se...

Stayed here on a cold night, finally checked into a cold room after initially being ignored by receptionist, asked about heat and moved to a hot room, too hot. No heat control in room, couldn't sleep, got breathless and ended up being ill in a cold shower at 2.30am! Complained and moved to another room. Complained in morning, they didn't care, company policy not to give refunds, offered late check out but we were out for the day so not needed! Breakfast was basic 'hot' buffet. Letter of complaint will be sent, will never stay here again!

Though some of our (somewhat) elderly fellows complained about their cold rooms and battled over a limitted supply of portable heaters, our room on the first floor was cosy and pleasant despite the week of our stay being still and very cold. The hotel has another Brittania next door which has a delightful and often deserted swimming pool which can be used (though at a small cost). The Heathland's location is superb. One block back from the quiet, Boscombe end of Bournemouth cliff top, there's an access path down to the sea front very close by and excellent walking in either direction to Hengistbury Head with views of The Needles and Isle of Wight one way and The Chines and Poole Harbour with views to Old Harry, his wife and accolites and Swanage Bay in the other. You'll be close to the town centre, the pier, the theatres, cinemas and Pavillion. The hotel serves a good range of excellently cooked food, made largely from fresh ingredients. The service is a bit quirky and food replacement can be slow but it's always friendly and accommodating and, goodness, you are on holiday.

We didn't see the entertainment which rotates between the Heathland and the 2 other close-by Brittannia hotels, but others appeared to think it was of a decent generic seaside type standard.

As with most 3 star large British seaside hotels The Heathlands could do with investment but the decor, furnishings etc are OK if a little dated. At the price we paid for 5 days all minor blemishes are quickly brushed over. Ignore the nay sayers and try it for yourself.

Room Tip: First floor middle was good for us. All rooms are quiet and if you get one at the front it's So...
