We went for valentines. It was fab. Champagne in the room and chocolates and flowers. A huge jacuzzi bath, lovely room and bathroom. Nice quiet location yet walking from both beach and city centre. The evening meal was fabulous, as the atmosphere was excellent. On a large shared table with brilliant people. Food was also good. Breakfast good. Overall it was an amazing weekend very much enjoyed. I would recommend for a romantic but fun break.

Room Tip: Pay for the upgrade. The jacuzzi is fab.

I came here from Seattle, USA to celebrate Christmas with my English and Dutch family. The mansion and grounds were purchased by Edward VII for his mistress. The property has a Victorian feel but the staff is not stuffy in any way. We felt treated as though we were honored guests in someone's home. The staff were able to maintain the character of the past while maintaining the modernity of the present. The food was excellent and the staff accommodated to food allergies.
Even though the majority of the guests were English, I didn't at all feel uncomfortable as an American, nor did my Dutch family feel uncomfortable. I would especially recommend this place if you are from abroad to get a true feel of the South Coast and English Culture.

Room Tip: The King's Suite is recommended for a special treat.

We were bought a 3 course meal voucher last Christmas for this venue from Family and being local were a little hesitant as we thought it would be one of your 'run of the mill Bournemouth coach style hotels'... how wrong we were!! What a fabulous find! The hotel itself is an amazing building steeped in history with staff willing to take time to show you around rooms, relay the building / original occupants history, show minor details like initial etchings in the fireplace and window pane which add to the amazing character. Wonderful addition to the evening!
As for the meal, considering it was a Sunday night again I was dubious, but it was delicious! Each of our three courses were cooked to perfection and all attention to detail. We had a lovely reception in the bar with an aperitif, made our selections and were shown to our table in the grand hall when the starters were ready. I nice touch that I love as it makes a meal so much more relaxing than being rushed to/from your table in a restaurant. The ambience in the dining room is lovely. The only thing I would change would be the removal of the continuously piped Whitney Houston 'I will always love you' music for something more classical and age appropriate for the building/setting! or even some festive Christmas tunes would have been preferable ;) After the meal, we were shown to the bar/lounge area for after dinner coffees etc. again, a lovely touch for helping make it a relaxing and unrushed evening.
As mentioned all the Staff very courteous and entertaining. Considering my 13 years of living in Bournemouth and not knowing about this gem, we will be back for meals / afternoon tea again and will definitely be recommending it as a hotel to friends whom visit. Lovely. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We are a group of 17 ladies all sharing a love of tennis and lunch. Today we had our annual Christmas lunch at the Langtry Manor, a return visit after a very successful trip last year.

All of us agreed that we couldn't have chosen a better venue. The food was excellent (we had pre-chosen being a large group). The stunning dining room was beautifully decorated for Christmas and service was great. The lovely young lady in charge for service ensured all dishes were served at the same time and everyone was happy. Not modern or trendy but superb value for money and we were made to feel extremely welcome. I think this would be a great venue for a wedding or special celebration, particularly in the beautiful dining room.

A lovely hotel full of history and character, this was our first afternoon tea. The staff were welcoming and very attentive, food was superb. We asked if we could have a Latte and Hot Chocolate instead of tea, this was no trouble. Loved the dining room.

We have just enjoyed another wonderful Murder Mystery Weekend at The Langtry Manor. There must be something very special about this Hotel as we have been going there for over ten years. Although mostly for the Murder Mystery Weekends, we first discovered it when we were married there and have since stayed there whenever we needed a home from home in Bournemouth. It’s difficult to explain the charms of this house which if you have not tried it you should. Some say it’s in a time warp but that’s no bad thing which makes it unique amongst the soulless chains and wannabe so called boutique hotels. Incredibly helpful, attentive and welcoming staff and a great chef will see us returning again.

Have just returned from a lovely time at the Murder Mystery weekend at Langtry Manor Hotel. The staff were exceptional and the food was brilliant. This was our second time staying at the Langtry and I cant imagine staying anywhere else in Bournmouth!! They have a new chef and I can honestly say it was good the first time but it's even better now. Breakfast is a combination of cooked and cereal so covers for all. We stayed in room 38 which had a lovely four poster bed, bathroom is tiny though and the shower is actually in the corner of the main room over the jacussi, I would have prefered the walk in shower we had last time in Gold Cup. The TV had problems but as we werent there to watch TV that was fine. If your thinking about doing the Murder Mystery weekend then I would recommend it, the cast are brilliant and take everything thrown at them especially as my partner was being mischevious!! Well done everyone for a great weekend from The Tricks (Character Names)

Room Tip: Kings Suite and the Gold Cup are well worth a stay but most rooms are very good, would suggest when...
