I picked Marsham Court for a few days break, partly because of TA recommendations and, also, because of its location - on the East Cliff and close to the town centre. And for the fact that it has good parking.

As mentioned in other posts, the hotel is going through a slow process of refurbishment. My room was in need of some TLC but that was all and there were no problems of any real significance. It was clean, with sufficient storage and with furnishings still in reasonable condition (although the bed was soft and well past its prime). Certainly, I've stayed in much worse places - and been charged more.

I usually like to try local restaurants when travelling but the dinner inclusive rate here seemed particularly good value at £69. Staff in the restaurant are efficient and well geared up to "processing you through" quite quickly. Dinner is four courses, plus coffee. Choice of three starters; soup or sorbet; choice of main ( couple of meats, fish and a veggie), desserts (from a buffet). Chef does well for quality and variety over the days, with what must be a tight budget - although sauces with the main courses tended to be overly "gloopy".

Breakfast is buffet style. I find hotel buffet breakfast are normally a travesty of one of our national dishes - the "full English". You know what I mean - limp undercooked bacon, yet hard overcooked eggs and so on. Marsham Court is no exception but, again, I've been offered far worse. They are making something of an effort with a good variety of chopped fruit as well as fruit juice available and toast brought to you freshly made.

All in all, an enjoyable stay.

Thank you for your constructive feedback. We are trying our best to cause as little disturbance as possible with our refurbishment programme. It does however take alot of time and planning to get things just as they should be.
I am glad that you found our rates competitive and reasonable and that we were able to meet your requirements.
We hope to welcome you to the Marsham Court in the future.

Kind regards

Spend a wonderful weekend at the end of June at the Marsham Court. Our room was recently refurbished and eveything was brand new, including the carpet and flat screen TV. Lovely and quiet, great breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor pool and sunloungers. On the Sunday we were welcome to use the facilities after check out and enjoyed the pool, the very reasonably priced bar and a barbecue. The England match was shown on a large screen in one of the function rooms which we watched with other guests. Pity about the result but the Marsham cannot be blamed for that!! All the staff we met were really friendly. Ignore all the moaners, this hotel is a gem!!

I have just stayed at this hotel after a Masonic weekend. I opted for a sea view room and it was worth the extra tenner. The hotel, staff and accomadation were superb. The meals and especially the banquet was one of the best I have ever had. The hotel is going through a period of refurb but this does not detract from the friendliness and helfulness of the staff. I would recomend this hotel for a wortwhile visit anytime.

The service was second to none, the room was comfortable but shabby, the beds were comfortable but the bases were in a terrible condition and need to be replaced. The TV needs up-grading and has a poor picture. The hotel is under-going referbishment and will look good when it is completed. It is just five minutes walk into Bournemouth, plenty of night-life and shops. The food in the restaurant is excellent but if you have a dietary problem it is best if you take your own as they are not very good on diet requirements, I was unable to have soya products. The view from the hotel is stunning, but access at the front is not for a wheelchair or disabled, access is at the back of the hotel and a bit inconvienient.

Thank you for your review and I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Marsham Court.
It is nice to see that the work we are doing is not going unoticed and that it is appreciated that we cant do everything within the click of a finger. These things do take time. However I am sorry that you did not get one of the rooms were the TV has already been changed to a 26" flat screen as we are in the process of changing all of them now.
Also we do cater for dietary requirements if we have prior notice. Some items we may not be able to obtain but if a request is made before arrival for soya milk or other similar products we do our best to obtain them for the client. If we were unable to assist on this occasion please accept my sincere apologises and we will do our best to rectify the situation in the future.
We hope that we are able to welcome you back to the hotel in the future.
