A rare find in boscombe, good coffee and super selection of breakfasts using fab quality bacon and sausages. Pancakes are also very good.

“What Happened?”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

We have been regular customers of Cafe Boscanova for the last 3 years enjoying the unusual breakfast menu. Today however, the coffee had shrunk, although the taste was great it was only luke warm. As for the breakfast, I had the Veggie East End as always. The quality of the ingredients was not up to usual standards, the small amount of Halloumi I was given had no taste, my toast was burnt and bubble and squeak was runny and tasteless. My husband had poached eggs on toast which was as good as always, however his sides of mushrooms were burnt and the bacon, thin and tasteless. We came away disappointed that the quality of the ingredients seems to have been compromised. Unfortunately it no longer seems to be all about the ingredients....

“A gem not to be missed”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

We went as a family on a Saturday lunchtime. It was packed which we take as a positive. We waited for a table and were kept informed at all times. There's enough to observe to keep adults and children entertained, it's a great place to people watch.

The menu was good however the boards of specials is where it's at. Some fantastic sounding dishes. Before I get to the food lets focus on the drinks. We, as a family, avoid the corporate brands - too sugary. no taste and no effort. Their drinks are wonderful. We went for fresh orange or berry smoothies. They were superb. Totally fresh and the guy making them was worth watching for fun. A proper character.

So the food. It was excellent. We chose the cafe as we tend to eat vegetarian based meals. However there's plenty for the meat eater. We had a variety of dishes displayed on the boards. It takes a little while, the wait is worth it. It's refreshing to eat freshly prepared meals which didn't come from a packet or straight from the microwave. We all enjoyed it, adults and children alike.

Other stuff. The staff were positive, helpful and engaged. The cafe is interesting and just a little bit different. You can't park outside however the local multi storey is decent value at a couple of pounds. Price? I think it's good value bearing in mind all dishes are freshly prepared, plenty of staff. Ingredients are real, portions are plenty.

Recommended on every level. There is no doubt we will go back. Very impressed and keep up the good work.
