“A central location for beach or town, with parking”
Reviewed June 1, 2011

We enjoyed a three night stay at the Carisbrooke, staying in the Tregonwell suite.
Nick, the owner and Jane on reception, were very pleasant and helpful.
Close to the beach and town, with parking outside.
A cooked breakfast and choice of cereals & fruit juices available.
Although not luxury accommodation, our room and the hotel itself were more than adequate for a short break.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms more noisy

Paid for breakfast but when arrived at hotel was informed breakfast was only served between 9.00 - 10.00 am (too late), only alternative was to go to another hotel if we required breakfast before 9.00 am. Not given any discount or offer of continental breakfast. Did not want to go to another hotel for breakfast, so missed out. Accommodation was clean but small room and kept bumping into furniture.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that our breakfast times and the alternative offered to you were not convenient for you. We have taken your comments on board and we are now offering breakfast between 8:30am and 10am on weekdays as well as at the weekends. Earlier breakfasts are available on request and if we are able to accommodate an earlier breakfast we will always strive to do so.

This was a perfect hotel for our stay in Bournemouth. We stayed one night as we were going to a concert at the BIC - a few minutes walk from the hotel. Ideal location, friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Free parking too and easy to find, for someone who get's lost everywhere we go this is no mean feat!

We stayed here with my son as we were all on a visit to Bournemouth Uinversity. The Duty Manager Jane was so helpful before we went she rang the bus company to find out the times for us and kindly e mailed them to me.

On arriving we were checked in very quickly and we were offered 3 different type of room. We opted for the family room which was a nice clean room and very quiet, with en suite.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was superb, such a lovely choice.

The hotel is near the beach and town centre has free parking and wifi access.

I would definitely return.

On arrival the staff were extremely helpful and very polite, even asking us our plans for the duration of the stay. The room we stayed in was clean with no problems or faults what so ever.

The staff even made a point of talking to us whenever we left the hotel and asking us how we were enjoying our stay not just at the hotel but in the area itself. I would not hesitate to visit this hotel again in the future with my partner.

Having booked a hotel just around the corner from the Carisbrooke we were disapointed to find they had double booked us with it being August bank holiday weekend and having drove 200 miles we thought thats our weekend over before its really started, but the owner arranged for us to stay at the Carisbrooke which in all fairness was better than the original hotel, the room we stayed in was light and airy, with a bath as well as a shower, the breakfast was great and set you up for the day, we will now use the carisbrooke whenever we go to Bournemouth which is normally 2 or 3 times a year

After reading other reviews I booked in to the Carisbrooke last month.

The welcome was friendly and it is conveniently placed for the beach and town centre.

The single room was clean with plenty of storage, but only had a small window at the top of the back wall, which made the room feel a little pokey. Unfortunately the night I stayed turned out to be a hot one and there was not enough ventilation from this one small window.

I'd be happy to stay again, although I think I'd ask for a different room next time.
