Stayed here for the nights and apart from usual moans about beds and pillows, it is a good, solid B & B.
The rooms are very good as we were given two rooms on the ground floor as I can and the couple we travelled with had a disability. The rooms were made up for families, so big with extra beds although ours had no seat and a net curtain to stop folk staring in as they walked by would have been good.
Nice TV in the room.
Shower was good but we did notice the bathroom door needed a good clean as dirty brown finger marks spoiled the nice white paint.
Breakfast was quite good and solid with lots of toast/tea/coffee as needed.
It's very near one of the seafront lifts, so unless you enjoy it, you don't have to hall up a great hill.
Good value for money.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your comments and hope you enjoyed your stay with us.
I apologise for the lack of a chair - it had been taken out to make space for a cot
and not replaced. Your room had been refurbished with new double glazed windows
during the winter and I must admit that getting new net curtains is on my 'to do' list!
We hope to see you all again in the future.

Kind regards

Sandy and David Oliver

We booked the room on the day as we had no real plan for our coastal holiday. The hotel is set on a hill that overlooks the whole of Bournemouth and only a five minute walk to the centre, set in a very tranquil spot you would think that you where in the countryside, no traffic noise or back ground music.
The room was a family room as this was the only room available but we where only charged a double rate. We had a en-suite bathroom with a bath a very spacious one too. A large comfortable double bed, all in all a very nice spacious room.
The breakfast was very good and served with charm and politeness.
The real gem of this hotel is the manager Carl a man of wit and friendliness to all, he seems to be everywhere at all times in every task. To meet the man was a pleasure.
Overall a great place to stay with a lot of charm and we will be back. Liam & Deb Byrne

The weather was going to be nice so we fancied three days in Bournemouth and I managed to get a three night for the price of two deal at the Mount Stuart. A clean, well run small hotel with plenty of character. Set back from the main road, with virtually no passing traffic - lovely and quiet even on a hot summer's night with the window open. 5 minutes from the beach and similarly close to the town centre and restaurants. Breakfast for a fiver - great value, tasty. I much prefer these character places to stay rather than a bland corporate chain and if the price is very competitive as well, it's a no-brainer.

We had a room for three nights (Sunday to Tuesday) and it was quiet even though the hotel was nearly fully booked. Having said that here were no hen/stag parties booked in. It really is very close to both the beach and the town centre and we had no problem getting our car out, as mentioned in a previous review. The free parking and free wifi were a bonus and the room was nice enough, if a little dated. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've ever slept in but it wasn't the worst either! Breakfast was filling with plenty offered, although I didn't like the sausage!! Overall, it was better than I expected for a two star hotel and the proximity to the beach more than made up for the slight shortfalls. The owners obviously read these reviews and take note of what's said as we couldn't leave our car in the car park after checking out due to other cars coming in and then being blocked in. We did find a car park close by that was quite cheap, so it wasn't the end if the world.
