“Relaxing long walks with the dogs”

We take our 2 dogs for a run along the beach every weekend and it's always great fun. There are always a lot of dog walkers so maybe not ideal for a picnic, unless you like sharing! ;) Lots of people fly kites on the field too.
There is plenty of parking, a cafe & toilets too. In the summer there is a land train along the walk park on the other side from the beach.

Amazing, beautiful views of Christchurch, the beach and surrounding area. Well worth a visit even on a blustery day.

Dog friendly all year round.
Beautiful location and lovely walk roung. All flat so good for those who aren't that fit.
Nice cafe at the far end, land train for the really immobile.
Lovely day out, my dog loves it there and it doesn't get too packed in the summer

This walk has 4 main route via, the beach stones harder going but nice on fine day, over the top to get a great view and sea breezes, along noddy train route or along the inland waters edge, all are lovely. You must end with a bite to eat either on the spit when open (flags are up) like being tropical island or for great value and good size portions at the lovely Hungry Hiker. Shame that parking is so expensive. Regular walk for us.

Walked to Hengisbury Head along the sea front
from Bournemouth Pier. They are building a Nature Centre there which is nearly complete,
aa nice new thatched building. Already a good Cafe there and a little train. Last year in the summer we got a ferry across to Christchurch
which makes a good day out.
