Stayed here a few weeks ago with friends whilst in Bournemouth, great location close to town & beach.
Was told up on booking residents late bar would be available but when we arrived back a horrid, rude, confrontational night bar man told us we were misinformed by the management & the bar shuts at midnight to everyone. But it was his decision as he was in charge of the bar & kitchen. He refused to serve us even a soft drink so we went to bed very unhappy & unwelcome & i was very upset with his attitude. Clearly needs customer relations training. That's a lot of money to be missing out on behind the bar. Also i may add we were not drunk, all very sober in fact. Luckily he wasn't there in the morning & the breakfast staff were great. When we asked about the late bar they replied saying he should've served us,he wasn't the manager, just the cook covering the night shift!!
The room was really nice, rest of the staff were lovely, hotel & bar nice & clean. We would stay here again if we assured there would be a different night porter!

On the plus side this hotel has a great location, being close to the BIC and town centre. But this pub/hotel is not for those who want a quiet location or a good nights sleep. Perhaps we were unlucky, for when we checked in we were waiting for a Hen Do to book in (with their various inflatables). This after phoning ahead to ensure they had car parking spaces, which they assured us they had, although three for the entire Hotel and Pub means your probably end up paying through the nose at the multi storey a short uphill walk from the hotel.

The rooms are a fair size and alright, although there was a sign saying no drinking water which was a rather odd thing to see post 1980.

Anyway the staff seemed friendly enough, but the main problem is that it seems it's on a local kick out drag next to a takeaway, so unless your deaf or too drunk to care you can listen to the locals till 3am. Didn't try the breakfast as I needed to return home for some sleep.

I would never recommend this 'inn', me and my partner stayed in September, for an anniversary trip. When I booked I asked if there was defiantly car parking as we would be arriving late in the evening , the older man promised that there would be a 'reserved' space, when arriving we drove around for 45 mins trying to find a parking space, with no sympathy or help from the staff! when eventually getting into the bar, it was a busy loud room that we couldn't even freely walk around! Defiantly not the boutique hotel, the website lies about! The older man checked us in, as my boyfriend went back out to the car the man watched me struggle to carry our bags up the stairs and walked away, room was standard needed some maintenance, there was no guest book, could hear the loud bar downstairs until 12pm, it was awful no soundproof! In the morning asked if there was any other options for brekkie, abrupt woman said no, and walked away, the next evening the music was louder! The room was cleaned but no effort had been made to make room feel boutique. The next morning we managed to get a parking space, my boyfriend asked if we could leave car in space for a couple more hours, as we had paid for parking all weekend! Another lady had the cheek to say we needed to move car ASAP! Overall staff were rude. Accommodation is a lie no boutique bnb at all! I would never willingly put a bad comment but I would never waste my money and stay again and would never recommend! Staff were unhelpful an dun interested! So angry we wasted time and money staying here!

Room Tip: S many other nice hotels nearby don't waste money here!

Had a lunch and dinner here, the weather was lovely, so we sat outside for lunch, great choices, and quickly served.
In the evening we went for the daily specials, absolutely lovely, freshly cooked with very generous portions, the liver and bacon in particular was very good. At basic pub prices, and friendly service, this was a nice place to spend an evening.
the only downside was the screens all round the pub, showing football, fine by us, but probably wouldn't suit people wanting a quiet pub meal!
exactly what you would expect from a local, but with much better than average quality food.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working locally.
On arrival we were shown to our room.
It looks after though they have spent a lot of time and money refurbishing in past year.
Rooms are very modern and clean. The bathroom had a rainfall shower and wet never had a problem with it.

Excellent rooms.
Will stay here again

Clean, bright rooms for Hong Kong standards, friendly and helpful staff, good info, terrace and common area with drinks available and a good range of DVDs that can be borrowed in the rooms.
A few minutes walk to or from the airport bus stop 21A who runs every 15 to 20 minutes. Very pleasant stay.
I cannot record for the Hankow, branch which is not far but have not been.
