“Brilliant location in he heart of bustling Totnes”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

We had a family room which was perfect for a family of 4. It was very smart and clean. The Seven Stars is a busy pub so a little noise at night was expected but it didn't trouble us. The breakfast selection was superb and the hotel staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel also has its own parking which is a real bonus in the town centre. I'm sure we'll be back!

Room Tip: We were told for future reference that rooms 19-21 would be the quietest

We stayed here for 2 nights and are looking forward to returning.

The hotel is quaint with a very cosy feeling about the place. We enjoyed using all the bars and restaurants and found the staff very friendly and concerned to meet all our needs, nothing seemed too much trouble.

We were delighted to be upgraded to a premium room and were pleased with the quality of the facilities, decore, comfort and general cleanliness. Whilst the hotel is on a fairly busy road the sound proofing was adequate. The bed was very comfortable.

We enjoyed the food in both bars and restaurants. The dishes were reasonably priced and of good quality and portion size. The breakfast were highly commendable. The rare beef in the carvery on Sunday evening was of exceptional quality.

The ambiance of this establishment is first class. A very delightfully relaxed stay.

A real treasure of a hotel. Very homely and relaxed but great decor, elegant, charming and spotless. Staff are friendly, food is delicious, there is loads going on, so a nice buzz. You can even sit out the front under patio heaters in the winter! REally great, I will be going back.
They do so many activites eg Christmas party for kids, disco nights, music on fridays. I am just sad I don't live close enough to go regularly.

Room Tip: I found room 18 charming but haven't seen the others!

We love Royal Seven Stars & got married here this month! We also had our evening reception in the ballroom. The wedding room is superb with the bay window looking out over The Plains & the main street. We stayed in the lovely Agatha Christie suite & our friends & family filled up most of the other rooms. The staff were very helpful & pulled out all the stops to make sure our day was extra special! Due to a fire we were concerned that the ballroom may not be available for us, but Margaret & the staff worked their magic and we were the first people to use the newly refurbished ballroom. Its fantastic, with sprung floor, beautiful lighting & lovey decor! Our buffet catered for around 75 people & was delicious. Well done & thank you Royal Seven Stars! We would thouroughly recommend this as a unique wedding venue.

Room Tip: The Seven Stars is a busy pub in a town centre location so if you want a quiet room, ask when you bo...

I stayed in the Royal Seven Stars in October shortly after they had experienced a kitchen fire. The staff informed us of this straight away and it didnt seem to make any difference to our stay. The rooms are directly above the pub and restaurant but very safe and quiet. Although small, the rooms have a lot of character and everything you need - TV, tea and coffee making facilities, full ensuite bath and shower room. Its in the perfect location for the main street and a lot of choice of shops and restaurants.

The location is great, right at then end of Fore Street. Everywhere is within easy walking distance. Make sure you visit some of the wonderful cafes in the town, spoilt for choice, and if you are there on Fridays, make sure you get to the Flea market in Market Square. My room was lovely, comfortable and very clean, I did however have to turn off the radiators, but I was able to to this myself. I was there over Halloween, so it was a bit noisy in the street that night, but other nights were much quieter. I ate in the bar on two evenings and the food was very good. I recommend trying the Fisherman's Pie. I thought the staff did very well considering they were working out of a temporary kitchen due to fire damage. I was advised ahead by telephone of the parking arrangements at Morrison's. I enjoyed my stay and would happily stay again in the future.

Is a very good place if you want a quiet evening with music, or meet new people. The service in bar is excellent and the food is good, but in the afternoon the service for eat is veeery slow! I recommend Seven Star for a good evening with friends!
