“A Rare Pleasure!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

Interesting and fun for all ages if you like goats, chickens, hedgehogs, and owls. My husband, aged 60, loves it!!
Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff who will be pleased to take time to chat and explain. Lots of the volunteer staff come from local 'assisted living' venues: excellent therapy. Great to see this community involvement. The 'rescue centre' is interesting.
Good cafe serves value food, with plenty of space to sit, and you can watch the trains on the Buckfast Steam Railway.
Excellent idea to buy a combined ticket for the train and farm - good value.
Nearest car park is Totnes train station (arrive before 11am to be sure of getting a place in peak season/at weekends) - involves a 10-15 minute stroll along footpath, over River Dart and along steam station platform and over level crossing.
You can buy animal feed - excellent for children, and for 60-year old men!! Guess who managed to let the goats out - and then had fun helping to round them up!!
Health and safety is taken very seriously, and there's a serious animal protection ethic too.
The owls are awe-inspiring and we could spend all day admiring them.
Do visit - enough said!

“Wonderful value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

We visited this venue with our granddaughter aged 2.5years. We knew it wasn't that large and had no idea what to expect. It was wonderful (and such good value). The staff are well trained and friendly and can answer any questions about the animals. The owls were to die for and you can actually touch them which Jasmine loved. The animals are kept in good clean conditions and are not crammed in - well worth the visit

Situated a stone throw from the steam railway this place is a hidden jem.My family enjoyed a great day out with hands on experience with the petting animals, a great display of owls with very informative and friendly staff. The day was finished of with one the best Plough Mans I've had in along time! One of the best value for money experiences. Keep up the good work We'll be back

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

Wonderful day out for the whole family. There were lots of friendly staff who really encouraged you to get hands-on with all of the animals - a rare treat that we all thoroughly enjoyed! It was very clean too and the animals looked happy and well looked after. We had lunch in the cafe and the food was exceptional and very reasonably priced as well. We'd recommend a visit to everyone!

“Families and couples will enjoy this”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

When my other half and I first decided to go I did think it would be very much aimed at families but as an adult couple we found the whole experience wondeful.
The staff and part-time volunteers were very helpful and informative. They really did have a great bond with the animals at the farm and the animals were properly looked after and catered for.

Visitors are given a cup of food to give to most of the animals at the farm and there are dispensers throughout the grounds should you wish to purchase more. At only 20p per portion its hard to resist a re-fill.

They're open to volunteers - if I lived locally I'd get involved myself as it looks very rewarding.

Overall - Excellent!
