We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We have 3 children under 10 & were all entertained. The garden is huge with a lovely seating area looking over it. A complete suntrap. :)
Kitchen & dining was very spacious with lots of cutlerly.
Overall almost everything about it was perfect...however the down side was it seemed that a lot of effort was put into the very fun & quirky decor that cormfort was slightly forgotton. The bedroom doors were glass with only a net curtain over them, so not very private! Also one of the bedrooms had a window that did not have any curtains & it faced the direction of the sunrise, therefore my 10year old was awake every morning at 5am!!
the bathroom situation was a bit strange, we were under the impression that there was an ensuite bedroom however it was just a shower, leading to a very disappointed disabled father in law.
These are just things that i would of liked to have been warned about but not things that would put us off going again. It really is a great property with a fun twist!!
If you are considering staying at this property you need to be aware that of four bedrooms only one has a wardrobe!! There is a wardrobe in the hallway and everyone else is expected to share it!! We all lived out of suitcases and for a holiday rental costing this much it was unacceptable.
The en suite has no toilet either which was a problem for my disabled Stepmother who needed facilities in the night.
The twin room is very dark with little natural light and the lights were not working properly either.
Ornaments caked in dust as were many of the surfaces and had not been properly cleaned in a long time. Dining table was dirty too along the metal under the glass.
As was the glass canopy over the cooker. bathroom bins had not been emptied. No hairdryers either.
On our first day the kitchen was overrun with Ants!! we had to go out and buy powder and ant spray and ant traps. Eventually we got rid of them but didnt like cooking much there so only cooked 1 meal the whole week. The owners reaction to my distress was 'Ants are Ants'!! After all of our complaints the owner said he would sort out compensation...we are still waiting!!
The only good thing I would say about the place was its location Cockington village and just a few mins from Torquay by car. Plenty of space for children, but bunkbed room is tiny corridor like.
