just enjoyed a break at this hotel. with Alfa travel, the coach trip left something to be desired, but the Hotel was really nice, clean and comfy.
The place is a bit of a warren I found five, differant stair ways to get to the third floor, thankfully there is a lift as well. the food is to a price but nice enough in the main.
The room nice and clean , but no shower in ours only a bath
Room service everyday.
The entertainment was a bit dire and not to my taste.
But plenty of pubs around so no bother there.
I found the staff really helpfull and nice.
It is not the Ritz, but try you will not regret it.

Went to the Regina Hotel as part of a Alpha Travel holiday. The room was small, dark and dingy and in need of updating. The beds were hard and old and although clean sheets were provided the bed making was only half done each day.The shower was filthy with mould that had not been cleaned in a long time.Meals were adequate and the waiters were quick and pleasant and the dining room clean. The manager was a control freak and came onto the coach to tell us the do's and dont's before we even entered the building.Reception staff were ok but the entertainment was a very poor working men's club style of torture.I recomend you give this hotel a wide berth as there are many better hotels in Torquay.I know they have to operate within a price but the meals although adequate sounded better on the menu than they looked on the plate in fact the whole package was substandard, shame on you Alpha as you do own the hotel.

This hotel was a bit of a dissapointment! Some of the staff were extremely rude and very unhelpful. It was a bit like being back at school at times as one time we were actually told off for being a couple of minutes late down to dinner! The rooms were very tatty and in major need of updating. Its based in a quiet area however as the place is so old it is very noisy at night because if anyone at all is walking around the place you can hear the floorboards creaking extremely loudly! The ONLY decent thing about this hotel was the food which I have to say was very very nice. However thats not enough for me to recommend staying here.

I went to this hotel via an Alfa Coach Holiday. The hotel I found to be good (for what we paid) clean sheets & bathroom... not much more.

The Dining experience there reminded me of school with staff who treat you like children, a little more patience and a smile would not have cost anything or gone a miss.

All my good thoughts about the place went out of the window one night when my friend who I was sharing the room with rang me in the small hours and asked me to come let him into the hotel, as he could not raise anyone at the 24 hour manned reception desk!!! I went down to open the door and found that ALL the doors on the ground floor were locked. INCLUDING the fire doors. I was not at all impressed and 40 mins later when I found the only worker there I made him walk me round every fire escape in the building, as I was ready for checking out at 5am. The Fire exits were all very good, accessible and unlocked from the upper floors, but all the ones on the ground floor were locked.

But apart from them risking my life!! It is one of the best-positioned hotels in the town.
