We only stayed one night so I'm unable to comment on the food and facilities however we only paid £30 for a double room....location of hotel is excellent, just a four minute walk from the sea front. The hotel is very dated but I didn't mind as it felt very british. The rooms are basic but warm, clean and with plenty of hot water. There is a small television, a wardrobe, a hairdryer and of course a kettle so you can have a cuppa in the morning or when you get back from the pub. My only concern was the smell of the duvet but everything else was clean and tidy.

I've just returned from a 3 night 60's cabaret break at this hotel. I went with my husband, mother and aunt and we had a lovely time. The hotel has obviously seen better days but our rooms were warm and comfortable and everything worked!
We stayed at this hotel last year and were disappointed to find that the sauna and jacuzzi had gone and that the gym has been turned into an ironing room! I guess the age of most of the guests made this seem a good idea? Swimming pool was warm and generally quiet though the changing room was cold and poorly furnished.

Food was excellent for a few nights but maybe could become a little boring after a while as it was mostly good old fashioned English food (although there was veggie lasagne on Fri. and veggie stir fry on Sunday.)

Stayed at the rainbow from 28/01/13 -01/02/13, i have to say what a nice friendly hotel. The rooms and hotel were spotless but have to admit the rooms could do with a refurb but please do not let this put you off. The food was excellent and always hot and plentiful.....breakfast consisted of all types of cereal and full cooked breakfast, it was serve yourself including tea, coffee and fruit juice......evening meal was a carvery each night offering a choice of 2 meats, you also had a vegetarian choice and another choice of meal eg curry, pie etc.. The hotel put on entertainment each night and the bar prices were fair for a hotel...pint of lager cost us £3.30. Every member of staff was helpful and friendly and always spoke to you, we went on a coach based holiday to this hotel with a good crowd of people, mind you i think we were the youngest at the age of hmmmm late 40s almost 50, but believe me we had a ball with the older guests........try this place, you wont regret it, we only paid £109 each which included the coach and 2 trips.

We have just returned from a Burlesque Evening,Wow what a Fantastic Venue and Show. You would have to travel to one of the big city's to experience such a great show, and the venue just lends itself to it.We stayed in the Stratford Suite, what an amazing room, with its Tudor style ceiling (you never stop looking up at it) and ceiling to floor curtains this truly is a very Grand Room(,its massive.)We are looking forward to our next visit we cant wait,The next Burlesque Evening is the 16th Feb Valentines day so if your thinking of booking do it now it will not be disappointing. If your new to Burlesque go onto the kinky and quirky web site, for more info.(we did)

Must say we enjoyed our stay here, food was excellent staff were very helpful.
Only negative we could see was no toilets were on a level floor the older guest had to walk down stairs on both wc which we thought was hard for some.
Other wise all good.

Room Tip: For smokers 114 is a garden room so very good for us..
