Just returned from an organised coach tour, regular coach trippers will know that these kind of holidays are quite cheap so before i comment on the food i will say that for the price i paid for a monday to friday stay i wasn't expecting the Ritz or food prepared by Raymond Blanc, however, i do expect a reasonable standard and a decent choice on the menu. The food was bland and unimaginative, it was very very basic with choices such as ham egg & chips for a main meal or omelette & chips, to me these are more like a lunch time menu, i ordered a ham omelette and chips one night, when it arrived there was no sign of any side salad to make it look appealing or add colour to the plate, i could of been eating anything it was completely tastless. My other moan is about the choice on the menu, basically if you didn't like soup you were stuffed because thats the only thing on offer for the starter, although you could have fruit juice instead but i don't class fruit juice as a starter, where was the melon, pate or egg mayo choice which is usually what you get. Main courses were just a roast with a choice of blande veggies or the omellete/ham & eggs. Puddings were equally bad with a choice of sponge cake & custard or icecream every night. The sponge was dry and custard cheap. So words of warning if you enjoy your food and you like a bit of decent quality and choice don't stay here, and its out of the way for shops etc, it sits in the middle of Torquay & Painton so theres a bit of a walk which ever way you go.

well what can i say... the location was great... lovely view from our room sea view.. i wouldnt class it as a hotel more like a bedsit, the room was very small, could just about walk round the bed, me and my partner are a young couple 25-35, this hotel was full of 60-70 yr olds which was like being in a old ppls home , no entertainment for us just some old un playin a guitar and singing, walls are also very thin could hear floor boards creaking all night and people talking, and the bloke who runs the place well he was happy as larry one minute and then very miserable the next, i wont be stopping here again but we did have a lovely time in torquay itself

Well we have just got back from our yearly trip to torquay, and as we normally stay in bed and breakfast, we thought we would try a hotel this year..... i wish we would have stayed with bed and breakfast!!!!!!! The hotel location is perfect, brilliant view, mins from the beach, really lovely, but the rest, well i have a list im afraid............the room is obviously ment to be a double, but has been partitioned off(obviously again to make more money, with no thought whatsoever for the guest,s comfort) the bathroom was horrible, the shower leaked, the sink was so small you could,nt even brush your teeth properly, and to top it off, whilst just getting out of the shower one morning, and opening the curtains and window( as the room was also unbearably hot) there was a man walking along the roof which was right outside some of the bedrooms!!!!!!!!!!! All in all, very very disapointed,we even declined to have breakfast, and preferred to walk along to the town!!!!

Spent just one night here, had booked & paid for 4 but left after first night, would not have stayed at all but was too late to find alternative accommodation. The ground floor room was cramped, really a single room but with double bed, dirty - furniture was sticky all over- en suite was tiny, sink cracked, shower walls full of mould. Dinner, well fish & chips straight from freezer or cheese salad which was tasteless cooking cheese and mixed leaf lettuce straight out of the bag! But was limp and going brown. You have been warned - find somewhere else, would I recommend this hotel to a friend - NO, not even to an enemy.

Hotel mainly caters for coach parties. Room 19 is over the kitchen at the back of the hotel and a noisey extractor fan is just under the window this will wake you in the morning if you like to have you window open. Stayed for three nights and the room and bathroom was not cleaned durring our stay. Bed was made and towels changed once. They seem to have very few staff but but managed to serve breakfast and the evening meal promptly. Dont expect 5 star hotel for the money you pay. Overall I would recomend this hotel. Nice views from the dinning room and only a 20 minute walk to the town. Half priced drinks from the bar between 8pm and 9pm. Entertainment on Saturday nights
