This is not the first time that Ros and I have stayed at the Capri, and it certainly won't be the last.
The welcome is always there from Christine and George. Between them they produce a first class holiday with first class food and accommodation.
Bus stop going to Torquay centre or in the other direction to Paignton a short walking distance.
Great place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter.

Excellent! We chose this hotel after viewing many online, and very glad we did. The Breakfast was very well presented, the room very clean and spotless. The location is central to other beaches; about 30mins walk along the beach to the town, or if travelling by bus 7mins. or buy a day saver £5.20. For me I would certainly recommend this hotel. George and Christine are very friendly and homely and very helpful. Peaceful atmosphere, and the 2 dogs enjoy your company. Will be going back again. Thanks again to George and Christine.

Room Tip: "Rooms at the front have some traffic noise but you get used to it"

Excellent! I chose this hotel at the last minute after deciding I needed a weekend break, and I was not disappointed. The food was good, the room very clean and spotless. The location is fantastic; about 15mins walk down to the Riviera, or if travelling by bus 7mins. I travelled by bus; daysaver £5.20. For me I would certainly recommend this hotel. George and Christine are very kind and helpful people. Peaceful atmosphere, warm and welcoming is what you experience when you arrive there!.

We have just spent two very enjoyable nights at the Capri (despite the weather on the first day). The room (10) was extremely comfortable and quiet. Our only slight criticism would be that the shower was very low powered. Breakfast was excellent and our hosts were very welcoming. The walk into Torquay is a very pleasant beach-side stroll which takes about 15 minutes (we are both pensioners!!) Buses are easily accessed if the weather is not good.

We would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room at the rear of the hotel was lovely and quiet!

Spent 3 nights here and found Chris and George very hospitable and helpful with local information when required. Room was clean and comfortable.Their dogs were not a problem.
B & B was a reasonable walk into Torquay however there were regular buses with a stop nearby..
Had an enjoyable stay.Would recommend.

We chose this guest house from it description on the web site.
I would say the photos have been taken from a flattering angle and do not show the very busy main road outside.
The property is just past a speed camera, so you get the traffic accelerating just after it (we had a room at the front).
There is parking, but this would be very tight if every space was taken.
The walk on level "ground" is misleading. It is down hill into town but obviously up hill on the way back. And at 1.1 miles (according to sat nav on our mobile) is not a short walk.
There are bus stops close to hand though, bit tricky crossing the road at busy times. It cost £4:20 for the two of us.
The decor' is a bit dated an our room, No.8, had a very hard pine bed.
The shower was totally inadequate, just a trickle comes out of it.
The breakfast is lovely, very well cooked, we didn't have any evening meal.
The dogs were no problem, but i don't think that they should be allowed in the kitchen area.
I guess you get what you pay for, we were a bit disappointed.

We were very disappointed to read of the negative & detrimental review offered by these guests.
The impression given is that they decided they would not enjoy their stay with us from the start, as most of the comments made are in our opinion are truly exaggerated and without foundation. It's true the road outside does get busy at times, the parking is good and easy to negotiate for careful drivers. We have senior citizen's who walk to Torquay town centre, with no problem at all in regard to the gentle incline. There are bus stops right outside the guest house, with the bus company offering daily and weekly passes for those guests who do not have a bus pass. we have recently refurbished most of the bedrooms, including a complete refit of our en-suites. As far as the beds are concerned, we replace and update our mattresses on a regular basis, room 8 is one of our rooms that is requested on a regular basis, so a problem with the bed, I don't think so ! In regard to the dogs, sometimes that have to pass through our personal area, but they are never anywhere near any kind of food preparation. May I suggest that our future guests read the very positive and complimentary reviews that we have received in the past from home and abroad, and look forward to a very warm welcome at The Capri.

just spent ten days here, and loved every minute of it. The food was brilliant, the rooms were fantastic, and very clean. I as a vegetarian was very well looked after, and Chris and George were very very welcoming as were their dogs. we would love to go back anytime and hope to do so in the future without hesitation. thankyou both for a wonderful holiday.
