This hotel is run by an excellent couple whom go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant.
Also price is great, would recommend this hotel.

Certificate of Excellence well deserved.
A lovely hotel, run by a lovely family including Chip the dog. Who I wanted to bring back home to Scotland.
Room Perfect, the food was outstanding. Hope to return for a third time with my granny & grandad. Maybe third time lucky chip!

Stayed for a week on B&B basis. We opted for the premier room with the balcony. Thoroughly enjoyed the week despite the weather, good day Sunday then rained for the rest of the week. Didn’t get much chance to use the balcony but the room was bright and airy. Nice bathroom with a good shower and shampoo and shower gel included. We had our own mini fridge, which is unusual in this type of hotel. Amongst other things it meant we could have fresh milk for the morning tea instead of that revolting UHT milk. Warm welcome on arrival and the owners were very helpful and informative on local knowledge. The hotel is a typical Victorian building so does not resemble a modern chain hotel. Some of the furnishings may seem dated to some but to me it blends in with the character of the hotel. The breakfasts are excellent, plenty of choice, freshly cooked, not buffet style like the chain hotels and served in a lovely conservatory dining room. If you have the English Breakfast then the chef is happy to do any combination. There’s also a good range for the guest that prefers the continental choice. The location is good about 20 minutes from the town although there are a few steep hills. We parked the car when we arrived and used the excellent transport that Torquay has to offer all week. Good regular bus and ferry service and a 15-minute walk to the train station. If you like home comforts and caring hosts then this is worth a visit.

Room Tip: We took the premier balcony room and was worth the extra tariff. Whatever room you take you will be...

We had a wonderful time at the Iona , the owners are delightful and nothing was too much trouble,we were given a warm welcome on arrival, especially from Chip the very well behaved Little Jack Russell. The Iona is a first class hotel that is tucked away in a quiet location, with good car parking facilities,so we decided to leave the car and walk during our stay. We were given room 8 it was very clean and bright ,with a lovely bath and shower room, the bed was very comfortable,it had a tv with good reception, they also provided an elecric fan, iron and ironing board, the breakfast was exellent, there was a good selection of healthy fresh fruit salad, cereals and the cooked breakfast was delicious, served with a smile.
Lots to do in Torquay also great ferry ride over to Brixham, only £2.00 return for half an hour trip each way, really good value, so if you need to get away to a quiet location the Iona if the place to visit I would not hesitate recommend it.

Room Tip: Room 8 was lovely Quiet location

We stayed for one week and were fortunate to have good weather. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, with a good size car park. The menu was excellent - as was all the food!!. The owners are polite and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Chip, the resident Jack Russell was always around to welcome visitors.
