just back from Richmond hotel and all I can say is the hotel is very badly in need of renovating the food was terrible , Soup was vegetables floating in water and main course was meat cut in very thick slices the sweet was good I will give them that the manager was not very nice to the waitresses and if glenton and the rest of the couch companies want to keep there clients they should look for better hotels

I really was sorry to read that the food quality did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Your feedback is extremely important to us and we really do value your custom as such I offer my sincere apologies for any inconvenience that you may have suffered during your stay.

We agree that there are some rooms and areas which need upgrading and do have an ongoing maintenance programme across our hotel group to tackle this. We pride ourselves on the level of service and hospitality provided although it is very clear that on this occasion we were let down. We have taken steps to ensure that this is not able to happen again in the future.

Once again thank you for your comments and please be assured that I have taken them on board.

We stayed here for 2 nights, Fri 14th & sat 15th June 2013.
YES - the hotel does need a refurb, and YES it is some what dated, and YES the rooms are too, but it was clean, towels, bedding, bathrooms, communal areas.
And the enthusiasm, and friendliness of the staff, especially Kayleigh, who works hard, does a great job, and puts life into the "old" place, more then makes up for these down sides. (As does the price we paid).
The food was fantastic, we weren't expecting too much, but the chef needs complimenting, doing great food, and we left the dining room, very full & contented.
Location good, through the garden, along a small track & you reach the seafront.
We arrived at the hotel early, so car parking was not an issue for us, but spaces are very limited, as are a lot of hotels, B&B's in that area, there is some free on street parking, around the area.
And we got a great bargain price for all this, so no moans from us. As we always say - and many others - you get what you pay for, but this was great value.
We enjoyed our stay, we would return, and will do.

I speak as i find ,my wife and i have just spent a 5 day coach trip to this hotel ,june 10 -14th,for what we paid this was excellent value for money,food was good ,room spacious ,we had a balcony with sea views ,staff very friendly and helpful,only one downside not enough staff at meal times ,but all meals were served red hot,there was 2 coaches in this hotel and staff were pushed .thanks to all concerned. Drinks reasonbly priced for a hotel,but not much choice on draught beers.

Room Tip: Room 36.For lovely view.

stayed fri till sunday, room very spacious and big balcony lovely veiw of the bay,staff very pleasant, only down fall tv in room needs updating very small 12inch flatscreen, also cerals were not very nice tell they were a cheap brand also ordered full breakfast before we knew it it was handed to us within seconds could tell the only thing that was cooked fresh was the egg the rest was just warm and seemed it had been in oven to keep warm, also the carpets could do with a good clean in the corridors and stairs alot of nasty stains

Room Tip: room 11 very big and also big balcony view of the bay

The shower in room 24 rubbish to say the least, my wife did not bother and waited until we got home. We went down for breakfast and both ordered full English with in say 30 seconds it was on the table, now was that just cooked ? I think not. We had a laugh about it all. You get what you pay for in this day and age but a shower would have been nice. You wont see us gain but good luck hope you have a good season.

I will discuss the shower problem with my general manager and resolve the problem. The breakfast issue could be tha the watress took ones that had already been prepared for another table just to impress you?

We stayed at the richmond from 13th till 17th. We enjoyed our stay. Food was lovely with good choice . Service was efficient . Rooms were clean . But a little dated. Televisions in rooms really need updating , 12 inch portables are not good to watch nowadays. But apart from that cannot fault this place , david

Just stayed at the Richmond for 3 nights - the room was excellent, a beautiful view of the bay from the balcony, clean and freshly decorated. Had breakfast and evening meal and there was a wonderful choice of food. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay at the Richmond again.
