Owner description: Babbacombe Model Village is Torquay's most popular and visited attraction. Representing British life and culture over the last five decades all in miniature. Animated scenes, along with touches of very English humour bring it all to life. Taking you on a fun, informative and nostalgic trip through the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s to present day, it has appeal for all ages. Famous for its lovely setting in 4 acres of award-winning gardens that are a delight to experience all year round. NOTE: Opening times signify the admission times - opening to latest entry.

This model village is vast, and extremely well maintained. There were plenty of side activities that kept 4 young children entertained (spotting letters and dinosaur eggs), and we really enjoyed the visit.

A word of warning, though: it is very steep. I wouldn't visit if you use a wheelchair, or are infirm: it was a bit tricky pushing a pram back up the hill!

Visited the model village many years ago and were expecting to be disappointed this time. But no. The grounds were so photogenic, colourful and beautifully tended and I'd recommend anyone of any age to go and see it.There is so much to see and the little models are superb.
It is not too expensive and you can visit again for free the same night if you get a hand stamp.

The Model Village is a fantastic day out! I have been visiting for over 30 years and always love to go back and see it. The Theme Nights are very good indeed and we went at halloween, with the spiders web and scary glows etc! The admission fee is very good value because you can come and go as many times during the day and night. It is good, in my view, to see the Model Village at night and in the day too, it is lovely being floodlit!

My partner's two minature schnauzers loved going to the model village when we took them 2 years ago and were fascinated with the little people and buildings etc! It is very dog friendly attraction and great for the disabled with proper paths being nearby!

It has been part of Torquay for years and one of the few Model Villages which remain and thriving. It is close to St Marychurch, rather than Babbacombe for the bus, and you can get route 2 coastliner from Exeter or Torquay which calls at all the stops.

Ideal for all age groups, not just kids!!! Go on, give it a go!

I visited the model village with my husband - we had no children with us and thought it might not amuse us. We were wrong. The first thing that we noticed was the size - it went on into the distance. Walking around we loved looking for all the jokes etc. We were particularly excited to see Basil Fawlty and Manuel - it made our day (sad, but we were on holiday). We stood around staring at the dragon at the top of the castle so we could see it breathing fire.
We paid the extra £1 each to watch the 4D film - £2 well spent - we loved it and have told all our family and friends about it. As well as that, on the day of our visit there were "birds of prey" being shown - being so near to owls was a fantastic experience.
On the whole, we loved this visit.
