From the moment of arrival it was clear that this was going to be an exceptional place to stay. Grant and Adam epitomize hospitality making every guest feel welcome and at home in their delightful hotel. Not a single detail was missed from the well appointed rooms to the provision of delicious cake and cookies and the best breakfasts imaginable. I look forward to returning.

Unique boutique hotel. Ideal location. Exceptional attention to detail, not a thing out of place. A little gem. Staff fabulous could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. Breakfast was one of the best we have ever been served

Room Tip: Our room was a little compact but it was adequate for us and still warranted the good comments. S...

This was our first visit to the Somerville and it was a lovely experience. Our room was beautifully decorated, with a huge bed and newly refurbished en suite bathroom. Breakfast was a real treat - not only well cooked, with quality locally sourced ingredients, but in a lovely breakfast room with great views down the hill to Torquay, as well. Adam and Grant are natural and attentive hosts and their eye to detail is evident throughout this lovely B&B. We so wish to go back soon.

This was our second visit to the Somerville and was just as enjoyable as the first. A different room this time but a very pleasant room to sleep in. Very well decorated. An excellent breakfast with a selection of extras. Very convenient for the centre of Torquay.

Just returned home after spending 3 nights at the Somerville. Absolutely wonderful. Forget 5 star hotels - you will never get the personal service you receive at the Somerville from Adam and Grant.
The attention to detail is superb - everything you want and more. The room was well appointed, very tastefully decorated and furnished, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was just as impressive. Once in your room the thoughtful guest information book lists the best restaurants / pubs but also those restaurants which other guests have found lacking. You are then left to make up your own mind. Loved the fruit, cake and cookies available throughout the day also the organic milk made available for tea. The choice for breakfast was great and the quality spot on.
It’s just a short stroll down to the Harbour and the hotel has plenty of car park space. Next time we return to Torquay we will definitely stay at The Somerville. Thanks Grant and Adam for taking so much pride in what you do. All the time and thought you have put into those little extra details make the Somerville a very special place.
Well done and thank you.

Thank you so much for such a kind and generous review. We're absolutely delighted that you enjoyed yourselves so much and appreciated the things we provide.

You were also realy lucky to have visited during the best week's weather we've had since some dim and distant week in 2012.

We love promoting this corner of Devon and are keen to point our guests in the right directions when it comes to places of interest and of course restaurants. We have some amazing eateries that are genuinely worth supporting and we are genuinely pleased that our guests find our guide so useful.

This has to be the best B&B i have stayed at. Excellence at every turn - and just a short walk down to the town centre for evening restaurants.

At breakfast there was an extensive selection of "different" starters all beautifully displayed. The cooked choice was also inspiring and well presented. I will certainly be retruing on my next trip.

Attention to detail seems to be at the heart of The Somerville, making for a very comfortable break away. The little things meant a lot- being greeted with fresh fruit and cookies as well as an informative tour of the facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if coming to the area again will most certainly return here. Many thanks Adam and Grant
