Owner description: Cockington Country Park surrounds the picture postcard Cockington Village which lies just off the seafront near Torquay. The Country Park is free to walk around and features beautiful formal gardens, lakes and woodlands which can be enjoyed via a network of paths. Cockington Court and Cafe are nearby, along with a collection of craft studios where you can browse the creations of local artists and crafts people. The Cockington Country Park is cared for by local charity the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, who's volunteers operate a Visitor Centre in the village. Car parking is chargeable, although Trust members can park for free in the Trust's car park. Visit our website for more details.

What a beautiful place and so tranquil and yet so close to Torquay but you feel transported to another century. Well worth a visit and the craft shops have some beautiful things for sale.

The memories of Yesteryear, and how things were done in those days we caught the 62 bus from the Town which dropped us off in the village. It had a Horse drawn carriage which took us up to the to the Mansion which sold refreshments ,the Day was great.

Whether your strolling by the lakes, drinking tea @ Cockington Court while watching the cricket or walking the dog in the woods, there is endless fun to be had at Cockington. In recent years a craft centre & children play facilities have been built. Don't miss the chance to go to see the gentle giants, the carriage horses, while you can as I heard a rumor the carriage rides might be in jeopardy. If you are not familiar with Cockington, it's worth referring to a map as it is easy to miss all the byways especially the water meadows. My dog, Kookie, is one of Cockington's biggest fans.

The village itself is picturesque, lovely walks around the lakes and woodlands. The workshops and galleries are well worth a visit.

Was expecting a beautiful country park and picturesque scenery as described. But we were really disappointed. It's ok if you just want a grass area to walk around. Half the 'shops' were closed, the open ones were very over priced. The 'park' was a disgrace, unkept and unsafe - I wouldn't let my daughter's on anything there! Decoy or Stover much better! Will not be visiting again :(
