Great hotel, location was good.
Rooms bright and clean.
We ordered a buffet for the evening as it was a party. Amazing food. Great value.
The staff here are lovely, everyone friendly.
We would return. Car parking, view of the sea from the restaurant.

We stayed for two nights.Staff were very helpful, our room was fine, comfy bed,big fluffy towels.
Location is very good,a short walk to the beach through the hotel garden, into the public gardens and onto the promenade Adequate breakfast with all you needed to start the day.

We stayed here overnight to break up a journey from Kent going to Padstow. We had a large family room although we had no children with a huge bed and a large shower. Other members of our party( a couple and a single) both had twin rooms. The hotel has undergone a lot of renovations and it shows with comfortable seating and a fresh look to the communal areas. Although we didn't eat in the hotel the menu looked good and varied and not too bad a price. Breakfast was included and takes the form of a buffet where you can eat as much as you like. Breakfast comprises of cereals, fruit, yogurts, bread/toast and a cooked breakfast - bacon, sausages, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, eggs and fried bread and was nicely cooked and tasty. Would visit again

We decided to go away for a couple of days literally the night before and I found this hotel on Booking.com. For our £45 per night we got a lovely ground floor room that overlooked the gardens and the sea in the distance. The room itself was very comfortable if a bit compact, and spotlessly clean. The only thing lacking was a welcome pack - something I didn't realise I needed until it wasn't there. We could leave our room by the back door and walk down through the gardens and into a beautifully kept park. Across the road was the beach and the town and marina was approx 10 minutes walk away. The public areas of the hotel were absolutely gorgeous. There were sofas in the bar area and the dining area looks over the gardens - same view as our room but one floor up. All the staff were very friendly and the food was lovely. Having a buffet breakfast was a plus, with plenty to choose from - and delicious! I would definitely go back to Torquay as it was such a lovely place. More importantly, I would stay at the Marquis Hotel again without a doubt.

I recently stayed at the Marquis Hotel while taking a weekend break in Torquay. My friend and I had signed up for a deal online where we received two nights at the Marquis and a bottle of wine for £99. It turned out to be a fantastic deal. The hotel was well kept on the outside and very close to the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful upon arrival and afterwards. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. An electric kettle, tea, and coffee were included in the room. The bathroom appeared newly renovated. Breakfast was provided each morning in their restaurant area, which had a peaceful view of the beach and gardens. Breakfast was buffet style and included tea, coffee, cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast, eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausage, bacon, and juices. I would definitely return to the Marquis Hotel if I were staying in the area.

On arrival I was greeted by the receptionist who was smiling and very helpful , a real stunner who was immaculately dressed. I was shown to my room a bit on the small side but clean and had all I needed for the weekend . The bar was well stocked , the breakfast buffet was plentiful and well laid out . The other staff were friendly and attentive, I would definitely recommend the Marquis .

Room Tip: area is quiet and only 2 minutes to the beach
