Thankfully stayed only one night in hotel that is so far out of date hard to believe. Minute 20 yr old TV no remote, no shower only a bath and that was chipped.
Evening entertainment was so loud could not stay in room until finished c 11 pm ( + it sounded like your worst karioke nightmare)
Car park at rear too small so despite being asked to move from frontage no space at rear

Room Tip: Do not get a room either on the road at the front or near the bar/function room

Went with Sunrise coach holidays to Torquay. The coach trips and driver were good , but let down by the accommodation. The rooms were warm , but very basic and needed updating. However there was plenty of hot water for showers. Entertainment every night which was fairly good. Breakfast good, but evening meals left a lot to be desired, very bland with hardly any taste to some dishes. They even managed to burn the nut roast!

Having booked through "Booking. com" when we arrived after driving from Spain, we were told there were no vacancies. We didn't exist on the computer ! Now I wonder whose fault this was ! I had a confirmation in my hand. Thankfully, the waitresses phoned around for us & found somewhere suitable. Our thanks go out to them.

We stayed in room 14 which was a twin room, good size, tv on the wall with no remote, we only put it on once, no bath only shower, adequate size, there was no shampoo/shower gel, no hair dryer but you could get one from reception if there was any left, there was enough space to put all your clothes. I reported a problem with the toilet as we went out for the day and it was fixed on our return.
Food was good, breakfast at 8.30 which was a descent time, you were asked what you wanted for your evening meal, which was at 6.30 you had 3 options, one being a vegitarian, of starters and mains you chose your dessert at the time, if you had room for any.
We went on a coach trip with David Urquet mon-fri 2 days were spent travelling and there was 2 days of excursions which you didn't have to go on.
Didn't try the pool or the evening entertainment.
We got what we paid for. Torquay was a very nice place, but beware it is a hilly place so flats would be advisable.
All in all was a good experience, the travelling was the only fault, it took about 11 hours.

Reading some reviews about this hotel, I was wondering what we would find.
We found it to be a very friendly place, the staff were brilliant, entertainment when we were there was enjoyable. Our room was big enough for us- they only drawback for us is that it had a bath rather than a shower. Ok, it wants some decorating here and there, but you are NOT staying in the Ritz, nor you are NOT paying Ritz prices either.
The food was good, rooms were clean and we would go back again.

Great staff, clean bedrooms, good standard evening entertainment, plenty of food - not fancy but well cooked and choices and all 3 course meals. This isn't a fancy hotel but definite value for money. Swimming pool as well.

Room Tip: Some rooms have baths rather than showers

What I saw of this hotel was a very tired place in need of some serious TLC. The shower-room was grubby, the sink was minute, there was no bathmat and there was nowhere to hang towels. Some effort had been made with the bedroom furniture, the bedlinen was clean but the duvet and curtains must have come out of the ark.

The staff generally were fantastic and the food was more than acceptable.
