“Dont Stay Here”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

Awful stay....

Rooms were filthy, dusty and smelt HORRIBLE!!! Bathroom was even worse, can't really understand how they are allowed to let people stay in rooms this filthy. No Shower, just a bath which was disgusting as not cleaned, tiles hanging off...

Breakfast better than I expected, staff very friendly though.

If you want a short stay in Torquay, don't come here. Will never return...

We travelled with Travelstyle from Manchester less than £80,per person for travel, dinner, bed and breakfast for 3 nights.
Hotel needs updating but owner aware of this, I guess he gets so little from the travel company that he just keeps staff in work and pays his way. Rooms were clean, towels etc., spotless, staff lovely and the food, I have eaten in 5* and the food has not been as good, great choice, quick service and could eat everything, such good quality. Pool was very inviting but changing area could do with a good scrub, but put that down to people who use it as well as staff. Great place to catch bus to get out and about.

Room Tip: Double on back, very quiet.

This was also a Travelstyle holiday and we also didn't expect 4 star hotel but we travel alot and this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We arrived dead on 6.30p.m after a long journey which is the set meal time and we were hearded into the dining room without being allowed to freshen up. Meals were ok and dining room staff friendly but that's where it stops. We got to our room and it was disgusting, small and basic, not welcoming at all. It smelled musty and dusty and with me having asthma the dust made me cough. I ran my fingers over furniture and no way had it ever been cleaned, there was inches of dust. The bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom, well where do i start. The tiles at side and behind loo had human waste on it. The shower was full of mould we had to have wash in sink all weekend we couldn't get in that. The room had brown stains running down the walls. The net curtains were dirty and the curtains were different lengths and didn't fit. They didn't empty bathroom bin all weekend so it sat with rotting sanitary protection all this time. If you people from wales think this hotel is clean then you are having a laugh and no way will i be staying in any hotels near you. The settee in the tv room was ripped. Don't even try and watch tv as you got no chance. There was two water leaks during the weekend which didn't seem to get sorted. Do yourself a favour and stay away and Travelstyle please find us something clean!

This was a Travelstyle holiday and we certainly weren't expecting a 3 or 4 star hotel. However our original hotel booking was cancelled due to hotel closure and we were given this hotel as a replacement, location being the same as original booking. Firstly must state that the staff at the hotel were very friendly. the towels and bed sheets and pillows clean. Secondly though cannot be so generous, meals were tasteless, the rooms small and grubby the 2ft wide on-suite not very nice sink was the smallest we had ever seen, curtains didn't fit or even match once pulled they only fitted in the middle. Double glazing did not keep the sound of traffic out which was constant all through the night. Very creaky floorboards. Decoration very tired and wallpaper falling off walls. In fact the place was very tired and claustrophobic. If you pick this hotel you will need to remember that if on the first floor you will have to be fit and carry your own luggage up to your room. For the sake of the staff please revamp this hotel and bring it up-to-date.

as soon as i entred the premmises i new from the start that it would be poor hotel. its not just the bad smells that come from cirtain rooms my suspicions became aroused by the brown stains running down walls. When i got to my room the fun realy started. After notising that some previous tennents had smoked in the room which the assistent manager asured me it was a legal deal smoking in the rooms i soon noticed the poor attention to detail that the suposed cleaners lack of clenliness to detail to clean long stayed cobwebs on evry corner even a eight legged tennent present in one. The hotel is not equiped for a larger guest as i am the bathroom was to be desired.aswel as cramped conditions the shower was a joke. The door on zed item was hanging loosely.poor quality food run down hotel but th manager was nice about the complaints. most features wornt operational as entertainment.

Room Tip: dont pick some run down backwards hick town hotel pick a nice modern one ask to check out rooms firs...

Just come back from a hen weekend with 50 other Pink Ladies and Sandra Dee :-) We stayed in The Burlington Hotel which is a bit outdated yes, but clean bedding and towels, really friendly staff, dinner and breakfast were great, and the rooms and whole hotel were really warm. Definately stay there again.

Michelle and all the other 50 Pink Ladies, and Sandra Dee from Swansea :-)

We booked a long weekend with leisuretime in February it was a comedy themed weekend. after reading the comments about this hotel we had some misgivings. On arrival we were greated with a glass of sherry and a friendly welcome. beds and towels were very clean, food good, all staff were friendly, and the comedy entertainment was excellent. Colin our coach driver was very pleasant and obliging when we arrived at the hotel on friday the 3rd of february 2012 our driver told us if we had any complaints to tell him or the hotel staff straight away. As far as we know the only complaints were that the bedrooms were cold, this was rectified a.s.a.p. and the heating was left on for 24hrs. we really enjoyed our weekend and would return to this hotel. Elaine and Ron Brynmenyn Bridgend.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at the back they are a lot quieter than the ones in the front
