Room was on small side; shower weak and only just got warm; no tea and cake on arrival - as stated on website.

Clean; comfortable; chatty, friendly host; nice breakfast - with lovely homemade marmalade; good location; good value.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on your stay your feedback is invaluable to the running of our business. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in Torquay and have taken note of the points that you have raised. I am a little confused as we do offer tea on arrival but not cake and there is no mention of this on our website. We did not offer tea on this occasion as I got the impression you were heading out into Torquay shortly after arrival so that is an omission on my part for which I apologise. We have also tested the shower and could not find any problem, it may have been the fact that the bath was also used and the hot water had not caught up but we havent had any feedback on this before.
The room is on the smaller side as stated on the website as it is part of the family suite - mum and dad have the larger room and the twin room which you booked is used for the children. This was explained on arrival and we would have been more than happy to have put you in another room but you all wanted to be together. Anyway please accept our apologies.

My husband, son and niece have just returned from Torquay. We arrived on a dark, wet Friday night and were happy to find a warm, cosy bar area to chill out in with a nice glass of red wine! We stayed in the family suite?- Two rooms, one a large double with its own kitchenette and a twin room, all with it's own corridor. Great for a family with children. The kids loved having their own room. We walked along the coast near Babbacombe and visited Shaldon only a few miles away. This B&B was a great base for which to explore the surrounding Devonshire delights on Torquay's doorstep.

Thanks Nic and Steve for all your advice and amazing breakfasts with the nicest sausages I've ever eaten. We will be back.

Spent the weekend at Buckingham Lodge. Nicola and Steve are great hosts and provide a lovely breakfast. We had 2 rooms (1 for children) and both were big, clean and comfy. So all in all great value. And the sun came out.

Thank you for posting such a positive review, we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Buckingham Lodge in Torquay. The suite is a popular choice for families with older children consisting of a superkingsize bed and small kitchen area with a twin room adjoining to cater for the children. We hope you will return soon.

We stayed in the Lodge at the end of October with our children in the suite, which is great, two good sized rooms and a bathroom each, isolated from the rest of the rooms. They very kindly added a 5th bed for our Youngest child. We all enjoyed the breakfasts and really didnt need much for lunch each day! The rooms are warm and beds very comfy, and the owners were both really helpful with advice on places to go and see. Free wifi was very useful too. Lots to see with in walking distance.

If we go back to devon we would definatly return here, they made us feel very welcome and with Children of 4, 10 and 12 some times thats not the easiest thing to find! All three children enjoyed it, in fact when we got half way home the youngest asked to go back as he had found a Rock he wanted to give to Steve and got most upset when i said we had to go home!

We stayed at Buckingham Lodge in August, luckily the weather was fantastic, we had a lovely view from our room, Nicola and Steve were lovely hosts and made you feel really welcome.
The lodge is well located, within walking distance of the town, the double room was a bit small but very clean and the breakfast was one of the best we've had, the marmalade was to die for we would definately use again.

Room Tip: go for the bigger room if you prefer more space

I can down for a short break as I was pregnant and did not want to travel abroad. The lodge is fantastic, very clean and cozy and the owners will go out of their way to make sure your stay is amazing.

I will be returning next year as everything ticked the boxes.

Breakfast is delicious, really sets you up for the day.
