This is a warm & friendly hotel. Really good location close to the beach & park area. Nothing was too much trouble good advice on attractions & whats on. Excellent standards throughout. We booked last minute & it could not have been better. They have really got it just right with the attention to detail lovely furnishings throughout & a lovely feel to the place. Food was excellent & really good value for money with a really good choice & more than generous portion size could not eat it all.. Really relaxing weekend for us lovely out door space with small heated pool to cool off in . Just right . Will definitely book again . Thank you guys for your hospitality..B & S Davies

This hotel really is beautiful.

My husband and i wanted a short break away just to relax from work etc and Riveria Lodge Hotel was the right choice.

The rooms are lovely and clean, staff are friendly and helpful and it has a beautiful pool (just what we needed in this hot weather we are having!)

Breakfast is freshly cooked. The bar is fully stocked up with a lot of different drinks so there is plenty of choice!

The hotel is a very short walk to the Harbour, shops and Theatre etc.

It is very peaceful and we would both recommend this hotel.

I spent four nights at the Riviera Lodge, Torquay, in July 2013. The hotel is well located for the front and for the town, although there are hills to climb. The building is unusual in that the swimming pool and sun terrace are at the front of the hotel, although well shielded from the road (which is relatively quiet anyway). At check-in, I received a thorough explanation of the hotel facilities and was given a single room on the second floor.

The room was simply furnished in a bright and tasteful fashion. It even had a bit of a view of Torquay (see photo). The drawback of this room was that it caught the Sun in the afternoon and was very warm in the hot weather (a small electric fan would help). The room was relatively quiet, apart from the bird life outside which could be quite noisy, even at night. Although the bedroom was of a reasonable size for a single room, the shower room was extremely cramped (IMO, a smaller basin is needed). Otherwise, it was acceptable and was well-provisioned with toiletries.

My room rate included breakfast. There was a reasonably good spread on the buffet table for a hotel of this size and other items could be ordered from a menu. The breakfast was served with amazing efficiency and cheer. My only criticism is that it starts a little late, especially for people who want an early start - 8:15am and 8:45am on Sundays.

This hotel has a lot going for it, especially with its small swimming pool and terraces. It provides a good, clean, friendly base for a relaxing holiday in Torquay, all at reasonable cost. I can thoroughly recommend the Riviera Lodge.

Just returned from a 2 night stay here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is lovely and we made use of the pool in the great summer weather. Breakfast was good and we had a lunch by the pool which was also good. Would recommend to anyone. Great place.

Just got back from 2 nights here.

Nice place, we were there in July, so weather was amazing, and the pool, the gardens grounds outside the pool was so good, we did not even bother with the beach.

Rooms were spotless, and very well equipped, We stayed in the Suite with it's own private entrance.

Only 2 niggles, The place advertised a "Furnished Private Terrace" But does not mention it's beside the main entrance, and sits beside the car park. Plus the room was boiling, maybe for £135 per night air-con would be an idea to help sleep at night? being on the ground floor next to the car park you can not leave windows open wide for ventilation.

Second was the Sausages for breakfast, horrible catering things, looked like deep fried and awful.

I had to put these 2 things above in the review, however, the rest of the stay was brilliant.
Lovely staff, the breakfast excepting the above mention sausages was excellent. The cold meat and cheese selection, fresh baked (and still warm) croissants, and all the other selection were brilliant.

Also I booked direct through the site, and on there site they offer a 5% discount, although I did not do it at the time, they still gave it to me when I asked later on even though they did not have to. Now that's nice customer service.
