“Not bad - quite pricey”

Stopped here for a bite to eat and a drink - small bottle of coke, medium coffee, 2 sandwiches, £14! - Can't fault the food, drinks or service, but still quite pricey, given this cafe is at the top of town, and near a mcdonalds, and another cafe.

Would go here again for drinks only

I am shamefully remiss in my review of Dots since we were there in Xmas 2011. We had a wonderful stay in Torquay and it was complimented by establishments like Dots. They did not know us but treated us like family. We came in for a coffee and were treated to one if the best cups of coffee we had purchased since arriving in England. Being from California we were used to drinking coffee with a lot of cream in it something that is not the norm in the UK, however the staff at Dots was more than happy to accommodate us and provided us with ample pots of cream. We also commented on how rich and smooth the coffee was, and the owners came out to our table and were delighted to chat with us for a moment. A very pleasant experience with wonderful coffee and delicious cakes to boot. We'll certainly be back again in our next trip. Easy access in the heart of the shopping district.

Easily the best independent coffee shop sandwiches, cakes and coffee on Torquay high street. Not the cheapest it true, however it's great to see a cafe that doesn't skimp on ingredients or resort to cheap produce to increase profit margins. My only gripe would be uncomfortable seating and occasional mix ups with orders at the tills.
Nice home cooked food served with a smile though!

lovely hot chocolate, assistant very nice, gave advice on "tipples" in hot choc, cakes looked very tempting but we had just had breakfast at the hotel so didn't succumb.

We all need to support our independent retail sector before it is lost. This friendly independent is clean, with friendly staff & above all a decent cup of tea.
