An excellent two night stay with my whole family. A warm welcome on arrival and a comfortable room with a beautiful sea view. My young kids were well accommodated and the restaurant had a kids menu, where the portions where almost adult size.

Great facilities, pool indoor and out (which looked lovely but not inviting given it was mid September!) but it was still open. Tennis court had one of the best views!

Food was excellent although breakfast on the Sunday could have been a bit better.

Room Tip: It's worth paying extra for the sea view.

On holiday and a friend recommended a visit to The Osborne for cocktails. Big mistake. My mother, two sisters and myself arrived late afternoon and sat at a table on the Terrace... a promising start; great views, warmed by electric heaters but the table most suitable for us needed a good wipe down as did the adjoining table. No waiter/waitress service so went into the bar but no bartender behind the bar, just a note to report to Reception. Eventually bartender arrived, cocktails ordered. Bartender was obviously not used to mixing cocktails using a recipe card for the mixture, serving the Black Russian in a Martini glass and absolutely no sign of cocktail shaker/ice for the other two cocktails. Added to this, my sisters were left to carry the drinks out onto the Terrace. After telling the bartender that our table was unclean he gave me a damp cloth to wipe it down!!! At the time of payment we asked to speak to the Duty Manager and when we relayed out dismay at the poor service/cleanliness/disappointing cocktails she said "What do you expect me to do about it." We explained we weren't looking for any reduction/refund, which in hindsight we should have asked for, but that she takes note for future guests and shouldn't really offer cocktails until properly trained bar staff are on duty to prepare same. A very disappointing experience.

I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to stay at a Guest house where the old fashioned values of the customer service is clearly the most important priority to the owners. We stayed one night in a really beautifully decorated room and a shower that looks as if we were the first to use?! The breakfast was imaginative and delicious along with PROPER tea. We would not hesitate to recommend The Osborne Hotel to other travellers

Room Tip: Just book it!

Stayed Sat eve, just one night & would have stayed another time permitting. Another last minute booking for us as we were in the Sidmouth area the previous night & no accommodation avail for Sat. So we decided to drive to the Torbay area, found vacancies here. Staff all so very helpful and talked us through the history of this picturesque place. It has a lovely position looking over the bay, lovely grounds, rooms seem to,have been refurbished to a modern standard. We peaked at a sea view rooms & I would highly recommend staying in one, none avail for our stay this time, it still the 2 rooms our party had were lovely. The hotel, is slightly dated, it it's really still ok. Breakfast, again staff were great and it was excellent. On Sat eve we ate in the hotel Brasserie, great menu & the food was excellent, we'll worth it.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view if you can. They have various offers on all through the year.

I took my mum for a 2 day break to the Osborne Hotel. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble, the pool was wonderful and warm, the room were spacious and clean, and the service from all the staff was excellent. Will definitely go back in the future. The hotel was only 10mins from Torquay town centre where there was a variety of shops. Well worth a visit.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a room with a sea view and it was excellent, made the room very bright and warm. Love...
