Great place to eat and drink for quality and value, we've tried to book rooms here in the past but they're always fully booked, damn you for being bust!!! Amazing views across the bay and the owners are really nice down to earth people who make an effort to make you feel at home.

We only live around the corner but often don't venture on to the babbacombe downs....to our shame as it hosts beautiful views and many gastro style pubs....when we do go down we always go to the buccaneer, the staff are friendly, the beer good and nice inside or out when the weather is good....last night however four of us decided to eat here, what a great choice....2 ale battered cod and chips, one king prawn in garlic and a bosun platter,( plaice goujons squid and tempura prawns)...all of which came fresh and extremely tasty....our compliments and we will visit for food again soon....thank you...Martin

My partner and i took our one year old for a spot of lunch, They have decent clean highchairs on offer. We both ordered a burger and sat down and waited, Before long our food had arrived looking delish. I had the 'Easterly' WOW, chicken. Good. Satay sauce. Good. Sweet chilli dip Good. By far the best burger EVER.
To top of a wonderful meal served by happy friendly staff the view is to die for and on such a glorious day what more could you ask for.
WOULD MOST DEFINITELY RETURN AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A place for great food, drink and conversation.
Everything that comes out of the kitchen smells amazing. the summer specials on at the moment look really tasty, i have tried a seafood spaghetti which is lush.
Lots of choice for drinks, the real ales won the buccaneer 'cask ale pub of the year' and quite rightly so.
There are really friendly and efficient staff and also really friendly locals who only ever make you feel at home. You don't ever feel uneasy walking in.
The buccaneer also has great views and nice up to date decor
A really great place that may be overlooked by some who opt for the more well known places along the downs but it definitely shouldn't.
