“Home from Home!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

Stayed for 7 days in July 2012. We were spoilt from the moment we walked into their home. Nothing was too much trouble. Good home cooked food and plenty of it. All our needs were catered for. Gerry and Sue are the perfect hosts. Their living room is given to the guest to watch tv, dvd's and make use of the many board games supplied. Coffee and tea in ample supply in the rooms. Bedding changed midweek. If you are looking for decent value for money lodgings, you wont go much wrong by booking your holiday there.

If you want to have a wonderful relaxing break in a real 'Home from Home' then this is the place for you.
Gerry and Susan greet you as a member of their family and indeed after our two week stay, we certainly felt that we were just that. Nothing is too much trouble for this lovely, genuine couple who do everything in their power to ensure you are comfortable and have everything that you need.
The food was excellent with the substantial breakfast ( cereals, juice, full cooked english, toast, and tea or coffee) really setting you up for the day, and the 2 course evening meal (bookable in advance) was excellent.
Our room was spotless and well presented with tea and coffee making facilities and an en-suite.
Would we stay again - definitely!!!

Gerry and Susan are very welcoming to families and we felt instantly at home upon arrival for our 4 night stay. Our young children loved playing in the lounge with all the toys and games and sometimes seemed to prefer staying in to going out to the beach! The breakfast was delicious and very generous - a full cooked breakfast, plus cereals, toast and all the juice and coffee we could drink. We were often welcomed back from a day out with a pot of hot tea and Gerry and Susan were very receptive to our needs varying from a vegetarian breakfast to hot milk for the children at bedtime. The room was comfortable and clean and had a kettle with tea, coffee and milk. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a relaxing and affordable stay walking distance from the beach.

I have just returned after staying for 2 nights with my daughter and infant son.

We stayed in the family room and were welcomed from the moment we arrived.

Susan greeted us and made us warm drinks and a cold drink for my daughter. There were games in the lounge and we were told not to worry if we made any mess. There were also other children staying and she told us that they were used to having them around.

They had moved the furniture in our room before we arrived to allow a cot to be put up in the room and even helped to sterilise the baby's bottles during our stay.

The room was very comfortable and spotless. We had our own TV and Kettle with tea & coffee and a really nice touch was the cold bottled water and fresh milk last thing at night to use for hot drinks the following morning.

Breakfasts were cooked fresh each day and had everything we wanted.

The Haute Epine is on a quiet side road close to the park areas and a short walk into the town. Close enough that we did not move the car until we left.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wish we had stayed for longer. We will look to go back soon and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable home away from home with a warm welcome.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Family Room 5 with an en-suite

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night break at the Haute Epine and Gerry & Sue made us feel very welcome and looked after everything we needed.

We stayed in a double en-suite room which was spotless and had our own TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

Unlike many other places, Gerry & Sue also went the extra mile with hot or cold drinks for us whilst we were downstairs in the Lounge or Dining Room and also gave us bottled water and fresh milk last thing at night for our hot drinks the following morning.

Breakfast was cooked fresh each morning exactly as we wanted with plenty of cerals, juices and toast to accompany the full english breakfast.

The Guest House is a short walk into the town but was peaceful and quiet and allowed us to unwind.

We would fully recommend the Haute Epine for anyone looking for a home away from home and will be looking to go back again.

We spent two nights in the family room at the Haute Epine Guest House, and we were so pleased with everything! Although our room wasn't large, it was comfy, and everything was clean, well-prepared, and in good condition. There was a lounge downstairs with television plus ample games and toys for children and adults alike; our little ones enjoyed the toys immensely. Breakfast was wonderful, and we ordered dinner both nights as well. As our 4-year-old said, we enjoyed "feasts" each time we sat down to table! Traveling with two young children can sometimes be tough -- but Gerry and Susan were truly remarkable in their warmth and genuine graciousness toward all four of us. We wholeheartedly recommend them!
