“WOW !!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

Let me start by saying i have eaten in a lot of so called top restaurants in my life and was expecting a pleasant experience but what we received was way beyond our expectations. The place was very cosey with seating for approx 20 people, The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming, Fantastic menu with a couple of specials on the list, The food was out of this world !, Service was impeccable, The first course was with us within 10 minutes of ordering but although the service was fast we didnt once feel rushed it was just a lovely experience, Mains were cooked to perfection and ample portions far to often in a fine dining restaurant you seem to get not a great deal for your money this is not the case here, The dessert again was faultless my wife commented on the home made biscuits that she had with her dessert and the waitress offered to get some more and returned with a plateful of delicious home made biscuits, Please visit this little jewel of the Riviera you will not be disappointed, I will leave it to you to experience the owner and chef who is what can only be described as a great character

“Very enjoyable evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

A popular, and rightly so, small restaurant with just 22 covers (or as the owner and chef Wener Rott puts it - 24 because two can sit at the bar). Booking at weekedns is essential.
The food is gamey-oriented with choices like dear, boar, pigeon, duck as well as steaks, and local seafood, with an Austrian tinge to it all. There were five of us and all of courses were well cooked and tasty, with a good choice of wines. The birthday boy amongst us was greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne. The waitresses were relaxed and attentive. We chatted with Werner himself for about half an hour after the meal during which he entertained us with a spot of yodelling and tales from the hospitality world. He also listened, which is not always the case with talkative hosts! Tables, cutlery, lay-ups, décor - all very pleasant. Free on-street parking for about 5 cars right outside the restaurant, and other free on-street parking nearby.
Highly recommended.

“singing chef, fresh made produce.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

A small restaurant on the edge of Torquay, myself wife and 10 yr old daughter visited, I can say that every part of the meal was enjoyable, staff are attentive and look after you well. everything is sparkling clean, and then to top it all a singing chef/owner who is passionate about what he does finally complimentary drinks, and tales to go along with it.
Pricing is not cheap, but sometimes you get what you pay for, and we all enjoyed the experience and will return for more yodelling and eating. I told the owner I would leave a positive review, I'm a little late but here it is, not that he needs it.

“first rate - highly recommend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

we booked for 7pm as well aware from previous reviews that this was a special restaurant! my partner ordered a bottle of prosecco very nice and I had the pigeon starter he had the deer, excellent for both choices then he had the lamb and I had the rabbit - I am drooling just thinking again about these dishes! then for dessert I had the parfait and my partner had the streudal, all 3 courses were very flavourable and the chef came out afterwards and had a chat, we didn't leave til nearly 10pm! I would have to say this is one of the best meals I have had this year, I wish I lived locally because I would have this on a permanent booking! would recommend if you wish to go to Old Vienna you do book as only seating for approx. 20 people
