Just returned to bristol after three day stay. It was brilliant value for money, lovely clean fresh room, very friendly staff, I'm not a veggie but the aubergine and mushroom stack was excellent. We went on recommendation and took friends who are definately recommending to their friends. What more is there to say !
. Thanks

Room Tip: have stayed three times ,three different rooms haven't had a bad one yet !

My wife and I together with one step daughter and one grand daughter recently made our annual pilgrimage to the Anchorage. Why do we keep going back? Because we love it! The staff are unbelievably helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food has greatly improved over the last few years and represents excellent value for money. There is always a good selection to chose from. Our bedrooms were large, clean and regularly maintained although it is definitely worth making sure you get exactly what you want as apparently the rooms do vary. The outdoor heated swimming pool is small but never very busy which, for us, was also a great attraction. Where else can you get your very own private pool? Internet access varies depending on your choice of room, so again ask first if this is important to you. The entertainment is varied but isn't always suitable for children as one or two of the performers go beyond what we think is acceptable. The hotel mainly caters for coach parties, so again, if this is doesn't suit you, go elsewhere. For our part, we will be back again next year!

Ok – I am not going to slate the hotel – but I wouldn’t return and I wouldn’t recommend it .
Why not slate it – the staff are nice and very helpfull – and are responsive to requests.
What not return
The beds are not comfortable
The rooms are mega hot
The food is absolutely appalling – the worse I have ever had anywhere in the world– powdered soup – if you have meat its cut so thin(1 slice only and you can see the pattern of the plate through it)
Breakfast isn’t to bad – but just real cheap products.
If you expect quality this isn’t the place – however if you’re a crowd using it for a base going to eat out and go back for a late drink then its near enough – (but get bladdered as you wont sleep well)

My husband and I have just returned from a 5 day holiday at the Anchorage Hotel. We have had a fabulous 5 days. The management and staff were excellent with customers - nothing was too much trouble. I had contacted the hotel prior to our stay because it was my husband's birthday whilst we were there. The staff went out of their way to make it a superb birthday for him, and served him with a home made birthday cake, which was decorated and tasted beautiful.
We never had a problem at reception or the bar area - if we rang the bell, the staff came straightaway. The rooms were very clean, and the room staff came every day. I would definitely recommend to friends, and return there. A big thank you to all

Well - what can one say! First coach tour, which won't be the last, not down to the hotel but because the tour opertor and day tours were excellent. Hotel - well where do we start! Food - very poor, on the last day we noticed some mould on the 'toast' well call it toast - soggy and soft, together with the re-cycled potato from the night before. Friends that we met and sat beside us in the unbearable heat of the dining room - ordered fish and chips that looked and tasted like they have been reheated several times. The reception area is not manned at all times - and you would have to wait quite a while before someone comes along to tell you off for ringing the bell so much! Not somewhere I would recommend for someone I don't like- think that says it all!!!!! :)

Room Tip: If you have difficulty walking I would recommend a room on the ground floor. I would try other hotel...

Rooms damp, lift broke down Tuesday not fixed by Friday with no engineer seen all week. 1h30 for meals with £3.25 extra for prawns £6+ for scampi etc.

Nice reception and bar area thou shame staff have no personality. Didn't hear one how's your day been was your meal alright maybe they knew the answer already. One lady got charged £1.50 for chips with her omelette when chips with scampi anyway instead of frozen roast potatoes
