Owner description: A valuable asset to the English Riviera for nearly eighty years, the Babbacombe Theatre in Torquay, is renowned for wowing audiences with their highly-acclaimed variety shows, performed throughout the year by a professional cast. There is ‘Magic to Do’ as the all new family show Magic of the Stars opens its doors for the 2017 season at the celebrated venue. Colin Matthews, the show’s producer and director won the Herald Express’s, ‘Outstanding Contribution to Tourism’ Award during his 30th year at the venue in 2016. He now has a legacy to maintain, therefore ‘just for you’ he and the shows cast, invite you to join them on a two-hour journey that promises to ‘warm your heart’. ‘Humour handled by a master’ is very much in the hands of the host and headlining showman, Steve Laister. Others with, ‘parts to perform’ is divine diva, Lindsey Collard, West End actress Gail-Marie, the British Magical Champion of Illusion, Daniel Dean, the effervescent Wayne ‘Champagne’ Martin, Danze Magique, our sensational dancers and finally six youngsters we like to call the Rock Starz! Combined this cast will undoubtedly leave you with a lasting impression. Magic of the Stars features extracts from Broadway and West End shows, has hit songs that span seven decades, numerous classic comedic sketches as well as inspirational lighting, costume design, choreography, and musical arrangements. There will be no other, ‘Night Like This’ in the Bay, so if you want to enjoy a magical and memorable evening of extraordinary entertainment at Devon’s No.1 theatre (as rated by TripAdvisor), then this show will not disappoint. Check the venues website for details on all the other shows programmed for 2017 or contact the Box Office. The theatre has, Access for wheelchair users with an accessible toilet, Wheelchair spaces & Loop System

Dear puddinlover.
Well it appears we have something in common... puddings! What a great user name!
Thank you very much for taking the time to go onto TripAdvisor with your comments and to give us a 5 star rating, we are very grateful.
Jethro has been coming to us here for many years now and he never ceases to make his audience laugh. A very clever comedian as well as a very charming man.
We do expect to be looking at dates for his 2013 tour very soon.
We love comedy here at the Babbacombe Theatre, so as well as using it in our own variety productions, we book as many comics touring the circuit as we can. We had Tim Vine earlier in the year, and have Stephen K. Amos on the 19th of October and Stewart Francis on the 24th November.
We have now started programming for the 2013 season and I can confirm you can see Al Murray, the pub landlord in May.
The venue lends itself well to comedy, as we can be sure that the intimate layout of the auditorium makes it more up close and personal. Albeit when Al is here in May, his spillage will travel further; think I will stay in the back row for that one!

Dear Martin W.
Your support for the Babbacombe Theatre is very much appreciated. It was lovely to read that you came to see both of our mid week shows, Stardust & West End Now! Even though the latter has now finished its run and we are soon to close Stardust. On the bright side though we open on Wednesday 31st October with our all-new Christmas show, Christmas Starlight. The show will run weekly on Wednesdays with a matinee at 2.30pm and an evening performance at 8.15pm. All details are now on our website. West End Now will be back by popular demand, with one more performance on Tuesday 11th December at 8.15pm.
Hopefully people reading your lovely comments and 5 star review may want to come along for themselves and see what we do best- ENTERTAIN YOU

Dear Muzzyman21.
You are absolutely right when you say we have some fabulous pubs/restaurants along the Babbacombe Downs. And I have to admit, I am rather partial to the Cream Teas, served at Angels Tearooms, albeit everyone of the eateries that provide a cream tea do all come up to the mark. We are very spoilt here, its a wonder we are not all the size of a double decker bus!
Thank you very much for your lovely comments about the theatres location and your 5 star review for the show Stardust. We are very pleased to know you enjoyed your time spend on Babbacombe Downs and with us here at the theatre. No visit to Torquay would be complete without a day/evening out at Babbacombe.

Dear MaggieCumbria.
Everyone here at the Babbacombe Theatre will be delighted you enjoyed your evening with us, when you came along to see Stardust. Our comedians as you say are hilarious and we all enjoy the amazing talents of our vocalist and local children. They all enjoy doing the show which I believe to be infectious and one of the reasons why our patrons enjoy the show too!
Thank you for taking the time to add your comments to TripAdvisor and for your 5 star rating.
We hope to see you again if ever you travel back down to the English Riviera.

Dear Richie053.
Well we made you laugh... that's just as it should be, thank you.
The fact that you took the time to write a review on our behalf is very much appreciated, and I know the cast will now have seen your comments and will love the fact you rated them with 5 stars.
I particularly was grateful for your recommendation for the show Stardust and the line, " Not to be missed", we could not ask for more. I hope if you are visiting the Bay again we will see you here, and you will still be laughing!
