On a very wet day looking for something to pass an hour or two
we came across Bygones,I bless the day we did,it was 2 hours of pure nostalgia, from the Victorian street complete with the noise that goes with a busy street to the lttle shops with their old fashioned wares(not for sale I might add).
It was an old cinema built over 3 floors, there is no lift but the stairs are not too bad,I have osteo arthritis & I managed just fine.
On the top floor is a model railway layout which you can operate yourself with switches on the outside of the glass. Also on this floor is a lovely cafe,we had a bowl of warming fresh vegetable soup with a bread roll & butter, cost £395 a person, good value & excellent soup.Back on the ground floor is a souveneir shop selling memorabilia. There is so much more to see than I can describe on here, well worth a visit.

A really lovely place to visit with everything from days gone by. Suitable for old and young alike.
There are lots of stairs to contend with so not really suitable for people with disabilities. There is a lovely tea room which is also well worth a visit. Something different to see every time you visit!

Much more inside than I expected, plenty of exhibits.Over 4 floors, so not good for the immobile. Lovely homemade cakes in the tea rooms.

What a nice little place. A step back in time. Very enjoyable. Particularly liked the steam train and the shop displays
