ATMOSPHERE...Having a busy lifestyle, its good to relax and know you are going to be looked after. The Marina restaurant is that Haven for relaxation. A lovely table over looking the bobbing boats of the inner harbour, watching the sun go down. ZZZZZ. I was getting relaxed again!!.
THE FOOD.... Its very important on special occasions that you do not make a mistake especially on an anniversary. The Marina Restaurant will not disappoint. Fixed price or A LA CART. The food is top quality, excellently presented by attentive (not overbearing) friendly staff. Of particular note was the Bread and butter pudding desert with cream, SCRUMPTIOUS.
Looking forward to the next visit.

The Marina Resturant is one of our regular places to dine and have really enjoyed every meal we have had. Friendly and attentive staff, well priced food and a lovely setting.

Fantastic fresh local fish - the torquay bronze cod with watercress sauce is one of my favourites - well cooked and well presented.

Decor is a little dated but with the view of the harbour its not really noticable. Tinted windows make having dinner while the sun sets very enjoyable.

This is one of a few places in torquay we take our visitors to as we know all aspects of the meal/evening will be good.

A must for anyones visit to Torquay.

After trying to find somewhere to eat in the town centre we ended here. We hadn’t booked & were told that there would be a 15-20 minute wait. We were happy to wait in the bar & were given the menus to choose our food.
After being seated we were immediately given our starters which were very tasty. Then we waited & waited & waited. Probably for about 45 minutes onwards. We got talking to a family next to use who had also been waiting for ages for food. They chased it several times & were told each time that it would be with them soon. This may not seem unusual but the place was far from full with lots of empty tables. Someone tried to book in & did ask why they couldn’t eat there as there were so many free tables, to be told that the kitchen couldn’t cope with the amount of food to be cooked. I think that was the problem. The food was good when it did come. The building was ok & in a prime location with quirky separate rooms that could be used for family occasions/ party’s etc but it really isn’t being used to its full potential. The kitchen is tiny with 3 chefs in it trying to manoeuvre around each other. This has a knock on effect of the waiting staff just standing around and getting hassled by the customers waiting for their food orders. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be waiting for food or for their order to be taken – but there was no point cos the kitchen couldn’t cope. Looking at the layout of the building though there is plenty of room to move things round & extend the kitchen – do it!!!!
FOOD: was really nice. Limited menu but lovely (when it arrived)
LOCATION: right on the harbour with great views & a raised elevation above the street level.
Lovely food, friendly staff, prime location, long waits & really not hitting its full potential.
